Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed It

April Fool’s Day – Here at the Rise and Grind we appreciate a good joke, especially jokes of the cheesy variety. With that being said, April Fool’s jokes are a bit played out. Every year people do or say outlandish things on this specific day and then yell, “APRIL FOOLS!”…. Good one, you got me. I almost believed my girlfriend was breaking up with me, my parents telling me I was adopted, or that my grandma was in a horrific car crash. As you go throughout your day today, be vigilant. There is a lot of false information out there. For example, someone told me bettors are putting heavy cash on the Cubs this year. Haha, that’s a classic, I have used that one myself a few times since 1920. There was also this one time where a bunch of people told me the Hawks would rest their starters against Detroit. I have to admit, they got me on that one too. I built a bunch of Mike Muscala lineups and then bam, No rest for Hawks normal starters. I’m not saying don’t believe anything today, just ask yourself, “Could that really happen?” Without further adieu let’s get into some real news that actually did happen.

FanDuel PFBC – With opening day right around the corner, FanDuel is proud to announce the 2015 Playboy Fantasy Baseball Championship (PFBC). You can read all about it in LeoTPP’s article from yesterday. Some of the highlights include a $100,000 top prize, as well as the chance to possibly meet DillingerFour Hugh Hefner. If the PFBC is on your bucket list, you may want to plant the idea in your significant other’s head that this is a possibility. Tell your wife/girlfriend that you just won a trip to the Playboy Mansion and see how she reacts. If she completely flips out, you can quickly recover with the classic, “APRIL FOOLS” line. If she seems ok with it, go ahead and take your shot at the PFBC next Monday for only $25.

PokerStars DFS – Yes, I know April Fools and all, but again, this is actual news. PokerStars has begun making plans to launch a DFS site or offer DFS in some variety next fall. There is a lively discussion in the forums on this topic. RotoGrinders podcast host Dan Back even caught up with Chris Grove of ODFReport to discuss this news. I’m sure you want my opinion on whether this is “Good For the Industry”©. In my opinion, we are need of more people in the forums who will let us know how DFS is exactly like Poker. This should definitely help on that front. If it brings in some news players as a bonus on top of that, I’m all for it.

Big Winners – On MaxKings, Grinder maxdalury won all the monies last night. Max claimed 1st-9th in the Crossover, 1st-4th in the Pick and Roll and several top ten finishes in other tournaments. If there was a GPP worth winning, Max was in the top 10. This clip sums it up. We were Chris Paul and max was Steph Curry. You win this round. On The Menu

NHL Tonight – With just four games on the schedule, NHL is a bit thin tonight. A true Grinder can still find some value in short slates. Our resident puckheads are already discussing this slate in the NHL Strategy Thread. Later today, JMBWngFan will also have NHL Daily plays for your lineup building pleasure.

NBA Tonight – While NHL will likely be much less stressful, the big money to be won tonight is in NBA. DraftKings will continue Championship Week with a $400K Crossover ($100K to 1st) and FanDuel is offering a $300K Slam. If you are looking to win that kind of life-changing money, Notorious has his First Look posted already. Hoop2410 also has GPP Plays. Later today, Notorious will have an in-depth look at every game in the NBA Grind Down and Beermakersfan will bring a six-pack to wash it all down.

If narratives are what you seek, we have a few tonight. Justin Hamilton, Brook Lopez, and Robin Lopez all have birthdays today. You would have to be an April fool not to get them in at least one lineup for a #BirthdayGame. In honor of April Fools day, we have a special narrative. Bradley Beal faces off against the 76ers tonight. How many times has Beal tricked you into using him this year? Tonight will be his #WontGetFooledAgain game. Don’t be on the wrong end of this joke, fire up Beal with confidence tonight and we will decide tomorrow what the actual joke was.
