RotoAcademy Preview: An Introduction to Picking QBs

I have written about six different introductions to this course, and I have not liked any of them. Honestly, I am hoping you already read my free RotoAcademy download: “An Absolutely Vital (Seriously!) Introduction To Daily Fantasy Football.”

You see, the point of an introductory lesson in a course such as this (as Lesson 1 is available for free) is for this lesson put you in a position where you say, “Wow, I have to buy this course!” Probably the best job I have ever done, in this area, was the first lesson of my “Predicting Pitching” course for daily fantasy baseball. But I haven’t done that here.

It’s a bit frustrating, too, because — honestly — you do have to buy this course.

Okay. Yeah — “have to” is a bit strong. But let’s go with this: “It will be overwhelmingly beneficial for your bankroll and your ability to cash throughout the season if you purchase this course.”

But, see, throughout the six written-and-deleted versions of this introductory lesson, I have been unable to come up with a set of words that truly puts the massive importance of this lesson — and the other lessons that complement it — into perspective. I have failed to come up with an introduction that will cause you to really grasp just how eye-opening these courses will be.

I could just come right out and tell you, sure. I could say, “The information in these courses will not just take your NFL DFS game to the next level; it will take your NFL DFS game to the next stratosphere!”

But, I mean, how powerful is that statement when I’m the one saying it, right?

That’s why I said I hope you read my free RotoAcademy download: “An Absolutely Vital (Seriously!) Introduction To Daily Fantasy Football.” I liked that piece quite a bit; I feel it did a solid job conveying just how valuable these courses will be.

If you haven’t read it, I guess you’re stuck with me just saying, “Um, yeah. Trust me — this course will help you.”

But really — it will.

You see, here’s the thing about “predicting quarterback play”: everyone thinks that predicting quarterback play is easy. “I already know who the best quarterbacks are; all I have to do is roster those guys.”

This is what most people think — and this would be true — if you were the only person allowed to play daily fantasy football outside the restrictions of a salary cap. But, sadly, this is not the case; sadly, you have to fit an entire team of players under the salary cap, because those are the rules — and as you may have guessed, “the best quarterbacks” tend to be “the highest-priced quarterbacks” as well. And this is where an understanding of predicting quarterback play becomes so vital. This is where knowing “everything you need to know for picking quarterbacks in DFS” becomes so tremendously valuable.

This is where you begin to gain your edge on the field — and gaining an edge anywhere you can is ultimately what daily fantasy football is all about.

In this lesson, we will be covering four specific areas of quarterback selection:

Talent
Matchup
Opportunity
Price

By understanding what you are looking for in these four areas, and by using these areas to narrow down your options to “the best quarterback plays of the week” (and trust me when I say: these “best plays” will often be entirely different from what you assumed on the surface!), you will then be ready for the sixth and final lesson of this course: Putting It All Together.

By the time you finish this course, you will know everything I know myself about selecting quarterbacks in DFS (and while I don’t want to sound annoying or self-inflated, it is worth mentioning: I know a lot — like, a whole lot). With all of this information presented in a straightforward, easy-to-apply manner in order for you to be able to immediately put it to use on your own daily fantasy football teams.

I guess that wasn’t such an awful introductory lesson after all.

Or maybe it was — I don’t know.

What I do know is this: this lesson provides you with everything you need to know for picking quarterbacks in DFS.
Is that worth it? Well, I guess that’s up to you.
