Saints vs. Packers Same Game Parlay Picks for Today

Jacobs of the Packers

Monday Night Football should be interesting, right? Surely, the entire country will watch this game tirelessly sweating out season-long fantasy football matchups? Almost everyone must have exposure to Kendre Miller and Packers, right?

I tried. This Monday Night Football contest lost its appeal a long time ago. The Packers are the hammer. The Saints barely qualify as a nail. DraftKings Sportsbook offers the Packers as 14-point home favorites. The final game of Week 16 might get ugly in a hurry. That has never stopped us from building a same game parlay ticket though!

Saints vs. Packers Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings marries a huge spread with a 43-point total. On the eve of Christmas Eve, the Packers will welcome the Saints in typical Green Bay weather. Freezing cold with a touch of breeze will be the climate, and points are more likely to be suppressed by the quality of talent on the New Orleans side of the football.

We are a far cry from the first 2 weeks of the season when Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, and company score 40+ points and we questioned whether or not the Saints were for real in 2024. Instead, the Saints jettisoned their coach, and both Carr and Kamara won’t be on the field on Monday night as they nurse injuries. Bub Means is out, and Marques Valdez-Scantling is questionable for Monday night. We are staring down the barrel of an offensive weapon loaded with Miller, Kevin Austin, Juwan Johnson, and Foster Moreau. Woof!

For the Packers, as if the Saints’ depth wasn’t enough, Luke Musgrave will return, and Jaire Alexander was questionable. I am not an NFL GM but I would recommend the Packers rest everyone they can in what might amount to an exhibition game on Monday night. Musgrave muddies the waters with pass catchers and makes Tucker Kraft less appealing in the prop market. Jaire Alexander has been rested as the Packers prepare for a deep playoff run. The Packers will clinch a playoff spot with a victory on Monday night and then prepare for a divisional matchup versus the Vikings.

We shouldn’t assume victory for the Packers. However, the Saints are not offering much in the way of promise on the offensive side of the football. Over the last 3 weeks, the Saints average 4.7 yards per play. Yes, yards per play, not yards per rushing attempt. Spencer Rattler is not the answer at quarterback, but New Orleans is left with no recourse. Rattler will suit up for the Saints and try to muster something on offense. Thrust back into action against the Commanders, Rattler went 10 for 21 for 135 passing yards.

Rattler of the Saints

Regardless of Rattler’s performance, the Saints should be behind. Since Rattler cannot take repeated knees, we might consider using some of his short-to-intermediate receivers, as the Packers are likely to put pressure on the young signal-caller. Green Bay is 6th in sack percentage. The Packers sacked Geno Smith and Sam Howell 7 times in Week 15. Rattler will be looking to get rid of the football quickly.

Josh Jacobs is the only Packer we can trust for consistent production. Jordan Love has a wide variety of mouths to feed. While Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Jayden Reed seem to rotate WR1 duties each week, Jacobs continues to represent a bell cow for the Green Bay offense. Playoff contenders run the football more than other teams, and the Packers are no different. Green Bay ranks 6th in rushing attempts per game. Jacobs had 26 attempts against the Seahawks in Week 15 and is very likely going to see a handful of attempts at great efficiency against the Saints. New Orleans allows more yards per rushing attempt (4.9) than they produce per offensive play. Jacobs has a robust but justified rushing prop on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The hammer — I mean, sledgehammer — meets the nail. Well, maybe not a nail. Sledgehammer meets tack on Monday Night Football. Can the Saints do the unthinkable? I doubt it, but let’s build a same game parlay, anyway.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Saints vs. Packers

Josh Jacobs 80+ Rushing Yards

Since we will likely be afforded a profit boost, I am going to buy down Jacobs’ rushing prop. While the Packers possess explosive weapons on the perimeter, why bother? Right?

The Saints struggle to stop the run, and the Packers continue to demonstrate that they want to run the football. Might they be weary of Jacobs’ workload as we head toward the playoffs? I think so. However, if the Packers are resting Jacobs, it is very likely that Jacobs has already had a great performance.

I am not going to overthink the beginning of tonight’s SGP. Jacobs could get here in the first half. I don’t mind adding a touchdown.

Kendre Miller Over 14.5 Receiving Yards

Now, let’s get to the ugly portion of this parlay. I don’t trust the Packers receivers for overs or unders. Each player is capable of making a big play down the field or getting zero targets. I don’t want to play Packers roulette.

Instead, I am going to operate under the assumption that the New Orleans Tack is getting hammered rather early, and Rattler will be forced to throw the football — and quickly, at that. Miller hasn’t demonstrated much in the way of receiving, but he is clearly the only back left standing. Miller is going to be on the field for New Orleans and is likely to see a few targets as Rattler looks to escape pressure. Let’s hope he is able to escape, as well.

Foster Moreau Over 23.5 Receiving Yards

Finally, we close with another short-to-intermediate option for the Saints as I continue to build with the assumption of a Green Bay blowout. Moreau has cleared this number in 3 of his last 4 games. We won’t be assuming the Saints will be nursing a lead.

With so few options for Rattler on the outside and likely very little time in a clean pocket, the Saints coaching staff needs to get the ball out quickly to protect the young quarterback. Moreau should see 3-4 targets as the Saints play catch-up after the opening whistle.
