Saints vs. Panthers Player Props for MNF

Chuba Hubbard u34.5 Rushing Yards (-110), Bet365

Chuba Hubbard had 60 rushing yards in Week 1, but he was out-snapped 44 to 28 by Miles Sanders and received half as many carries as Sanders. The Carolina Panthers ran the ball extremely well last weekend against a relatively weak Atlanta Falcons front-seven, but are likely to find life much more difficult on the ground in Week 2 against a healthy New Orleans Saints defensive front that is led by Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, and Pete Werner. Carolina is also starting an undrafted left guard tonight on the offensive line after Brady Christensen was ruled out for the season with a biceps injury. The under is a strong look here.

Juwan Johnson u25.5 Receiving Yards (-110), Bet365

Juwan Johnson ran a healthy number of routes in the season opener for the New Orleans Saints, but he is unlikely to have much room to run in Week 2 against a respectable Carolina Panthers linebacker corps that features a good coverage option in Shaq Thompson. The Panthers finished 10th in DVOA against tight ends in 2022 and allowed only two catches to Kyle Pitts in Week 1. Expect this unit to be tough on Johnson tonight.

NFL DFS Pick’em

Derek Carr Less Than 1.5 Pass Touchdowns, PrizePicks

Derek Carr pushed the ball downfield consistently in Week 1, but he did not have much success on those attempts – an emerging theme from the last few years. Carr’s inability to consistently throw accurate deep balls is a limiting factor when looking at this wager for tonight’s action, considering the relative weakness that is the Carolina secondary unit. The Saints have the ability to run the ball successfully in short-yardage situations near the goal line, and they should have little trouble in that regard this evening against a Panthers defense that allowed 130 rushing yards and two scores in the ground last weekend.
