2022 Sanderson Farms Championship Weather Forecast and Projections for Country Club of Jackson

sam-burns-800x480

We’re teeing off for the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson MS this week, and while there’s no rain, the afternoons will be a bit breezy.

As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps to soften and slow the course, meaning it helps as much as it hurts. With wind there’s no helpful side, it’s all negative impact, and the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the timeframe with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can use then use this to your advantage making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Sanderson Farms Championship Weather Report & Forecast

Round 1 Weather Projection – Thursday, September 29th

Earliest tee times can expect light winds to start, around 5mph. By the late AM it’s closer to 10mph. By the afternoon sustained winds will stay around 10mph, but we’ll mix in some wind gusts around 20mph.

Round 2 Weather Projection – Friday, September 30th

Literally a carbon copy of Thursday. Earliest tee times can expect light winds to start, around 5mph. By the late AM it’s closer to 10mph. By the afternoon sustained winds will stay around 10mph, but we’ll mix in some wind gusts around 20mph.

Round 3 Weather Projection – Saturday, October 1st

Same overall pattern. Light AM winds, afternoon still manageable with 10mph sustained winds and gusts around 20mph.

Round 4 Weather Projection – Sunday, October 2nd

You guessed it, light winds early. 5mph early AM, 10mph by noonish. Winds will stay at 10mph through the afternoon with stronger gusts.

Overall Sanderson Farms Championship Weather Forecast

My goal is always to try to avoid peak winds, but when even the strongest winds are at or under 10mph, that becomes a lot less necessary. In general mornings will be better for golf than the afternoons, but even afternoon tee times are in pretty good shape. With the weather being similar each day of the tournament I just don’t see much of a weather edge to be had here. Stay tuned to @KevinRothWx for the latest.
