2023 The American Express Weather Forecast and Projections

jason-day-800x480

We’re teeing off for the American Express this week, but between the odd tee-times and the quiet weather, I don’t expect the weather will provide any advantage.

As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps to soften and slow the course, meaning it helps as much as it hurts. With wind there’s no helpful side, it’s all negative impact, and the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the timeframe with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can use then use this to your advantage making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Overall The American Express Weather Forecast

As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. In this case, we don’t have either. With light winds and unique tee times that minimizes how spread out the golfers are, I don’t see any weather edge to be had. Stay tuned to @KevinRothWx for the latest.
