The GPP Scene: Your Post-All Star Break Resolutions

I’ll be honest here. I could not decide what to write about this week. I didn’t play the traditional $10 FanDuel Line Drive in the week before the All Star Break, so that discussion was out the window. Now, the All Star Break is here and nobody has any pressing MLB issues to talk about. What’s a guy to discuss?
Therefore, I took to Twitter to ask all the daily fantasy players out there — What’s your one daily fantasy resolution for the rest of the season? (Side note: I refuse to call it the “second half” because most teams are well past the half-way point of the year already. For example, Tampa Bay has played 91 games and has just 71 games remaining. The All Star Break is actually not at the mid-point of the year, as much of the public probably believes). I digress. Let’s get down to business.
So, what does the daily fantasy community have to say? What will you do differently for the rest of the season in your GPP games?
1) Never fade Coors (@brit_devine)
2) Embrace the grind. Finish positive on the year (@misnomer)
3) Finding a pattern in anything Don Mattingly does…. (@Mooseman7870) Good luck with that.
4) Recovering the bankroll after a two week slump (@TheMrBernardi)
5) To shrink the number of players on my “Never Again!” list. (@MagicHonkySauce)
6) Take more risks on GPP pitchers. (@EDJM7_)
7) Trust the data, trust the data, trust the data. (@mhirschberg01)
8) Win a GPP (@raysfan24)
9) Stack the Astros everyday because with their boom or bust they will click eventually and finish high if not take down a GPP. (@_Tyler_Watson_) This probably isn’t the worst idea.
10) Spend more time on pitching analysis. (@DFS_hambazaza)
11) Start looking at salaries from lowest to highest to find the values first. (@GatorBigD)
12) To trust my research and take a stand finding that low owned power for GPP’s (@markf283)
13) To be more confident in my lineup construction so I am not changing my lineups 10+ times a day. No more second guessing (@Siminski19 and others with similar variations)
14) On days Jimmy Nelson is pitching, go all-in. This means no 2 pitcher sites on those days. (@draftcheat)
15) In varying forms, “Don’t play Joc Pederson was also a surprisingly common response. Recency bias is an interesting angle to attack, too, as he has definitely been the biggest highly-owned bust over the last few weeks.
As for me, my resolution is to continue to get better with bankroll management. I have made some strides this year, but I still tend to chase losses in GPP’s often instead of letting the peaks and valleys come and go. Stick to the principles!
So there you have it, 15 community resolutions for the rest of the baseball season. I have logged the names of everyone listed above and will follow up with everyone to see how well they did with these resolutions by the end of the season. I will personally double check to make sure DraftCheat is not playing on DraftKings or Fantasy Aces on days where Jimmy Nelson is pitching. Best of luck for the rest of the year, everyone! Hopefully you enjoyed the All Star Break!
