I want to start off by saying that I am just hoping to do half the job STL did with his articles, and I want to thank him for putting this whole thing together. I also want to give DraftStreet a big time shout out for once again hosting such an awesome series. I’m here to give the series an outside opinion, and I’ll break down each game of the series the best I can. Just as a disclaimer, I don’t know either one of these guys and I have absolutely no stake in this, but I welcome all feedback as the series moves forward.

My Initial Thoughts On Both Lineups:
When lineups locked today, the first thing I did was look at both lineups to see if they took any chances with the rain games. Both players have players from the DET game, but it looks like the weather is going to blow over. I thought it was very interesting that Hixville didn’t take any players from the Boston/Tampa game.
Breaking Down Favre’s Lineup:
1) I’m a big fan of the pitching options Favre took tonight, and thought Lackey at 15k was an absolute steal tonight. Lackey has a great chance for a win against the Rays tonight, and it’s one of the most important things I look for in h2h pitchers.
2) I thought it was very interesting that he decided to fade the COL/ARI game, but he did grab 2 Red Sox players from the other high over under game. I love the Gomes play tonight, such a high O/U and the way he hits left handed pitching, I think he was a great value option.
3) I like the value catcher play and thought Zunino was in a great spot tonight against a left handed pitcher. I think his DET/KC plays are also in a great spot tonight, and if the weather pushes through those 3 should give him a great chance.
4) What I don’t like about his lineup tonight, I think using Carter in a cash game on Draftstreet is a mistake. Carter is a player that can go 0 for 4 with 4 strikeouts any night of the week, and I think I would have tried to find a better punt play. I’d rather play Craig against left handed pitching, but he has been swinging a lot better lately.
Breaking Down Hixvillehunk’s Lineup:

1) I like the fact he paid up for Jose Fernandez, and personally thought he was the safest pitching option on the board tonight. He also decided to go with Cain and Lynn, which shows both players liked the low price plus matchup.
2) I’m not liking the value plays Hixville decided to take tonight, and like I said with Carter, Hoes and Guzman can both have 2-3 strikeouts a piece. I know to roster Fernandez he had to look for value, but I think he could have went with a cheaper catcher and paid up a little more for a first baseman.
3) Hixville has been known in the past for taking BvP plays, and took some Giants who have good numbers against Stults. Posey is the best catcher option on the board tonight, but I think his price was a little to high. Panda has very good numbers against Stults, and was one of the best value options on the board.
4) He decided to fade the Red Sox game, and only took 1 player from the other high over under on the board. I do like the Dickerson play a lot, and think his price was great value. Weaver has struggled so far this season, and if I had to guess that would be the reason he took Giambi/Cabrera.
How The Game Played Out:
1) The Cain scratch didn’t hurt either play as both of them had him. Hixville got what he paid for from Jose Fernandez, who threw another gem tonight. I bet Favre is happy with the 11.25 he got from Lackey tonight. Both players had Lynn and I’m sure they are both disappointed in his performance tonight. Hixville was able to outscore Favre by 5.75 with his pitchers, but Favre was able to save 7k compared to Hix.
2) Posey came up huge for Hixville tonight, and I stand corrected on Posey being over priced tonight. I want to give Favre credit for his Zunino punt play, he also had a very good game tonight.
3) Favre got beat tonight because his value plays just simply didn’t show up. I thought Carter was a little too risky for a cash game, and he ended up with a -1.5 tonight. The biggest thing that killed him tonight, he had zero homeruns on his team tonight. He had a great play with Craig tonight, but unfortunately for him Hixville had him also.
4) Hixville won this matchup with his pitching decision, and Buster Posey coming up huge for him. His value plays also went negative tonight, but didn’t cost him as much as it did Favre. The Giants were able to hit Stults again tonight, and even though Cleveland hit Weaver very well, Cabrera/Giambi combo were able to score positive points for him.
5) Finals thoughts on this round, Hixville went a little safer with pitching and it paid off. Favre nailed his cheaper pitching option, but was able to take advantage of the extra cap. I think both players went a little too risky with there value options. One thing I did notice, they both grabbed very cheap players with homerun potential.
