Today's Hitter Breakdown: April 15th

Happy Jackie Robinson day! Enjoy by following the Red Sox/Rays early game at work, or if you don’t care about that, look here to figure out who has good and bad matchups for the daily fantasy games tonight so you can make some money.
Today’s games feature Coors field in play, and very few aces on the mound. There are some nice hitter matchups today and today’s games could produce some high scoring games. A shout out to PrimeTime420 who has been on an absurd roll recently and already has his 2 seats to the DFBC, which is insane to think about.

| PLAYER | OPS-L7 | BABIP | wOBA | PARK | Opp-SP (L/R) | SP ERA-L7 | vs L/R |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Domonic Brown | 0.727 | 0.29 | 0.307 | 1.08 | Arroyo – R | 5.25 | 0.265 |
| Ike Davis | 0.317 | 0.154 | 0.206 | 1.21 | Nicasio – R | 4.91 | 0.115 |
| Troy Tulowitzki | 0.812 | 0.313 | 0.431 | 1.18 | Gee – R | 7.71 | 0.4 |
| Adam Lind | 0.717 | 0.125 | 0.189 | 1.01 | Floyd – R | 5.56 | 0.12 |
| Dayan Viciedo | 0.466 | 0.125 | 0.197 | 1.05 | Buehrle – L | 10.24 | 0 |
| Paul Konerko | 0.836 | 0.219 | 0.282 | 1.05 | Buehrle – L | 10.24 | 0 |
| Joe Mauer | 1.048 | 0.361 | 0.344 | 1.02 | Blanton – R | 9 | 0.316 |
| Josh Hamilton | 0.83 | 0.241 | 0.25 | 1.02 | Correia – R | 3.14 | 0.241 |
| Dexter Fowler | 1.085 | 0.296 | 0.474 | 1.21 | Gee – R | 7.71 | 0.351 |
| Daniel Murphy | 1.382 | 0.389 | 0.461 | 1.21 | Nicasio – R | 4.91 | 0.385 |

- Domonic Brown hasn’t had the best start, but he does have some nice power. He gets a decent matchup here with Arroyo in Great American Ballpark. He should be pretty cheap on most sites.
- Ike Davis has been absolutely terrible this year, and his BABIP is almost sub-.150. I think he is still going to have a decent campaign and this is a perfect chance for him to have a nice game. He gets Nicasio in Coors field, and should be super cheap at first base.
- Troy Tulowitzki is very expensive, but is the best shortstop option out there, especially hitting at Coors. The over/under on the game is 10.5 which is the highest by far and he gets to face Dillon Gee who had a garbage start the last time out.
- Adam Lind is another player who has had an absolute garbage start to the season, which makes me a bit wary about his fantasy value, but I do like him against Floyd here. He is 6 for 16 off Floyd in his career and this is the 2nd highest over/under game of the day.
- Dayan Viciedo has had a terrible start as well, but I attribute this to the fact that he has only had 2 at bats against left handers this season. Viciedo is garbage against right handers, and whacks left handers, so he should be able to crush one off Buehrle today who appears to be throwing slowpitch this year.
- The White Sox are traveling to the Rogers Centre to take on their former teammate, Mark Buehrle. Who better than to crush a couple off Buehrle than his former teammate Paul Konerko who I am sure knows everything about Buehrle’s game. Paulie K has also been getting his game together recently as he has homered a couple of times in the last few games.
- Joe Mauer has been hitting well recently, and now he gets to face Joe Blanton who he is 7 for 22 off of in his career. Blanton has been bad and Mauer is an upscale option at catcher today.
- Josh Hamilton is heating up. He has now hit 2 homers in his last 2 games, and could very well go deep again against Correia. Hamilton is super streaky and I want to have him on my team when he goes nuts as he crushes everything in sight.
- Dexter Fowler has had a really nice start to the season making Colorado’s lineup a pretty intimidating one as he has power and speed at the top of the lineup. Here he gets Gee in Coors field and you couldn’t ask for much better of a matchup for him.
- Other than John Buck and Matt Harvey I think you have to look at Daniel Murphy as a huge story for the Mets this year. Murphy has really been hitting the ball well recently, as shown by his almost 1.4 OPS in his last 7. Here he gets to bat in Coors field against a right handed Nicasio, and you should be rolling with the hot hand here.
Today’s Hitters to Avoid
| PLAYER | OPS-L7 | BABIP | wOBA | PARK | Opp-SP (L/R) | SP ERA-L7 | vs L/R |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Josh Willingham | 0.821 | 0.286 | 0.395 | 1.06 | Blanton – R | 9 | 0.214 |
| Jay Bruce | 0.793 | 0.4 | 0.286 | 1.08 | Lee – L | 1.08 | 0.368 |
| Andre Ethier | 0.803 | 0.417 | 0.363 | 0.95 | Stults – L | 3.6 | 0.368 |
| Everth Cabrera | 0.967 | 0.316 | 0.352 | 0.95 | Billingsley- R | 1.5 | 0.429 |
| Matt Holliday | 0.911 | 0.258 | 0.328 | 0.88 | McDonald – R | 3.75 | 0.25 |
| Humberto Quintero | 0.666 | 0.25 | 0.148 | 0.97 | Arroyo – R | 5.25 | 0.167 |
| Jose Bautista | 0.606 | 0.15 | 0.343 | 1.05 | Floyd – R | 5.56 | 0.2 |
| Shin-Soo Choo | 0.823 | 0.387 | 0.462 | 1.08 | Lee – L | 1.08 | 0.23 |
| Andrew McCutchen | 0.933 | 0.233 | 0.348 | 0.88 | Lynn – R | 4.5 | 0.296 |
| Chris Denorfia | 0.929 | 0.458 | 0.413 | 0.91 | Billingsley- R | 1.5 | 0.316 |
- There are a lot of good matchups for batters today, so finding 10 guys who could struggle was a bit more of a challenge. Josh Willingham could have a bad time of it as he is only 2 for 16 with 8 strikeouts against Blanton in his career and hasn’t been playing that well recently.

- Jay Bruce is probably the streakiest hitter you can find, and right now he is pretty cold. Today isn’t the day he breaks out of his slump as he has to face off against fellow lefty Cliff Lee who he is 3 for 16 off in his career.
- At this point, this season’s numbers say that Andre Ethier is a better hitter against left handers than he is against right handers. Previous season’s numbers however tell us that he is much worse against left handers than right handers. I am going to continue fading him against lefties, especially against Stults who has been surprisingly effective this season.
- Everth Cabrera has had no sucess against Billingsley in his career going 2 for 16. I think there are better options out there in better offenses than Cabrera, as this is one of the lower over/under games of the night.
- The stats seem to be against Matt Holliday today. He is against an above average right hander in a hard park to hit in (PNC). He hasn’t exactly been crushing the ball recently, and is 2 for 15 off of McDonald in his career. There are better options out there.
- I don’t expect Humberto Quintero to get the start today, as Kratz will probably play, but if Quintero does, don’t think about playing him. He is 2 for 20 off Arroyo in his career and will certainly not fare well if he does play.
- Jose Bautista has really been struggling to start the year. I would not play him unless I am stacking Jays as he is 1 for 12 off Floyd for his career and is cold as ice right now.
- The Shin-Soo Choo saga continues, as he will face Cliff Lee in Great American Ballpark. Choo could not hit his way out of a paper bag against a left hander, and Lee is a very good left hander, so I am avoiding Choo and his high salary today.
- I don’t know how Andrew McCutchen keeps ending up on this list, but here he is. It may have something to do with playing at PNC and that he hasn’t had the lightning quick start to the year this year like he did last year. The Cardinals rotation has been lights out recently, and the Pirates may struggle to score runs today. He is also only 2 for 11 off Lynn.
- Chris Denorfia has been very solid this year, but now has to face Chad Billingsley who pitched well in his return. Denorfia is 2 for 9 off Billingsley and is hitting for a lineup that probably won’t produce many runs.
