After a Thursday and Friday night where the MLB was overshadowed by the beginning of the NFL season, we’re back with baseball being the main focus on Saturday, September 7th. The Dodgers, Brewers, and Red Sox stand out as the top offensive options on the board, while Dylan Cease headlines tonight’s pitchers. There are plenty of strong MLB Underdog Fantasy predictions to choose from, and I’m confident we can narrow it down to the top plays.

First, I’ll break down my favorite Underdog Fantasy MLB plays of the day; then, you can find a few more suggestions (pick only) at the bottom. You can also check out our Underdog Fantasy picks tool. Let’s get to it!

Top Underdog Fantasy MLB Picks Today

William Contreras – Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

The Milwaukee Brewers are in a great spot tonight against the Colorado Rockies and their abysmal bullpen. The starter is Ty Blach, who likely won’t go very deep into the game and has given up a .244 ISO to right-handed bats so far this season, and Contreras has looked as good as ever since returning from injury. He has a .353 ISO against left-handed bats in the last 30 days, and he projects for 2.2 total bases in the RotoGrinders projections.

Mookie Betts – Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Betts came through last night early with a double in his first at-bat, and I’m going right back to the well tonight. Not only are the Dodgers the top stack of the slate, but their opponent, Gavin Williams, has actually had reverse splits this season, giving up a ridiculous 58.8% hard hit rate to right-handed bats. Betts projects for 2.38 total bases tonight in the RotoGrinders projections and inexplicably has a boosted payout to have higher than 1.5 total bases on Underdog Fantasy.

Yordan Alvarez – Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Speaking of boosted payouts, that’s also the case for Yordan Alvarez on Underdog Fantasy to have higher than 1.5 total bases. While the lefty-lefty matchup is tough for a lot of hitters, it’s never been an issue for Alvarez, as evident by his .234 ISO against left-handed pitchers this season. He projects for 2.38 total bases in the RotoGrinders projections, and I like him to hit one out of the park against Eduardo Rodriguez, who has struggled to strike anyone out this season.
