2023 Valspar Championship Weather Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the Valspar Championship this week, where we’ll be watching for some breezy winds and scattered showers.

It’s a week where weather will matter, so you may consider using this as an edge on sites like No House Advantage, where you can use our No House Advantage promo code to get a $100 Instant Deposit Match.

As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps to soften and slow the course, meaning it helps as much as it hurts. With wind there’s no helpful side, it’s all negative impact, and the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the timeframe with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can use then use this to your advantage making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

The Valspar Championship Weather Report & Forecast

Round 1 Weather Projection – Thursday, March 16th

Breezy but manageable. Morning winds should be in the 10-15mph range, with conditions improving a bit in the afternoon to 5-10mph winds.

Round 2 Weather Projection – Friday, March 17th

Things start picking up a bit on Friday. AM winds will be 10mph at tee time, but 15mph sustained by the mid-to-late morning. Winds will continue climbing through the afternoon, with peak winds reaching around 20mph sustained and gusting over 30mph.

Round 3 Weather Projection – Saturday, March 18th

It will remain breezy Saturday, sustained winds of 15-20mph are possible with stronger gusts. Rain is possible as well, so a delay isn’t out of the question.

Round 4 Weather Projection – Sunday, March 19th

Pretty nice day to close things out. I’d call it a typical Florida breeze, around 10-15mph.

Overall Valspar Championship Weather Forecast

As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. For this tournament I think it’s pretty clear cut that you can get the better of both days by going with a Thurs PM / Fri AM build. You won’t see a huge edge either day, but being able to get a slight advantage on both days seems worthy of note for DFS and sports-betting purposes. Stay tuned to @KevinRothWx for the latest.
