Vanek's Views: DraftKings NFL DFS Tips for Week 15 WRs
Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings. Formerly of The 33rd Team and 4for4 Fantasy Football, Jordan will do a deep dive into the best ways to attack the wide receiver position to help you climb the leaderboards.
This weekend’s NFL slate is arguably the best of the entire season, featuring crucial matchups that should be highly competitive. The AFC Wild Card race is heating up, and many games have significant stakes. For example, the Dolphins travel to Houston to take on the Texans after a bye week, while the Colts face a must-win situation coming off their bye against the Broncos. Meanwhile, the Bengals remain in contention following the Cowboys’ Monday night special teams collapse.
Additionally, there are marquee cross-conference matchups, such as the Bills facing the Lions and the Steelers taking on the Eagles. With such an exciting slate of games, this weekend promises to be one of the most intriguing football slates of the season and sets the stage for an enticing DFS slate.
Last weekend, the Josh Allen stack carried me to a 2nd, 5th, and 22nd place finish in the Power Sweep. This weekend, the field is still not adapting, with Allen’s projected ownership at 3.7% as of Thursday afternoon. This week’s chalk appears to be living in that $6,000 range, so paying up and going cheaper at other positions will be a path to uniqueness, This is easily seen by using our NFL DFS optimizer, LineupHQ. This tool helped me see the path to getting up to Allen in Week 14, and I hope to find some similar success this weekend.

Stacks
Josh Allen ($8,500, QB, Buffalo Bills)
Amari Cooper ($5,300, WR, Buffalo Bills)
Dalton Kincaid ($4,900, TE, Buffalo Bills)
Amon-Ra St. Brown ($7,600, WR, Detroit Lions)
Again, we have a potential low-owned spot for the future MVP of the league in a situation where he is the underdog, on the road, in a dome, and playing against an elite offense. I will play Josh Allen and then figure out the salary to get him into lineups in spots like this, even though this week isn’t as great as last week, with some other top-level QBs on the slate and no clear value at the RB position just yet. Regardless, this is another spot where I expect Allen to be playing from behind and needing to utilize his legs more.
Amari Cooper played 55% of the snaps last week but had a 38% target share, and I expect him to continue building off of that against this Lions secondary. Their secondary is beat up over the middle of the field, and I also love the spot for Dalton Kincaid returning from his knee injury, with his price tag being key to making this stack work. Kincaid has been a big disappointment, but the Lions haven’t faced many TEs who play a lot of snaps in the slot. On the season, they are allowing 8.20 yards per attempt, and I think Kincaid is the chess-piece mismatch who could also take away some of the slot targets from Khalil Shakir. Despite missing some time, Kincaid still ranks 2nd on the team in targets from the slot, and I expect that number to increase this week.
Sean McVay just put out the blue print for Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson on how to put up points on this Bills defense through the air, and Amon-Ra St. Brown fits the mold of the player to get it done. St. Brown is very familiar with Rasul Douglas, who will be his matchup, and this is what it looked like the last time they matched up:
