Vanek's Views: DraftKings NFL DFS Picks for Week 4
Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings for Week 4. Formerly of The 33rd Team and 4for4 Fantasy Football, Jordan’s deep dive into the best stacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends is a must-read before you start building your lineups.
Offenses across the league are beginning to find their rhythm, and as a result, we’re starting to see defenses get exposed. This is the point in the season where film breakdowns truly matter, highlighting how teams have been beaten over the past couple of weeks and revealing blueprints that others may look to follow. For example, the Raiders rush defense looked dominant through the first 2 games, but the Commanders put on tape how to create explosive rushing plays against them — opening the door for an intriguing setup with a particular Bears running back this week.
All in all, we’re about a week away from having enough stable data to confidently form hard takes. Until then, the key is identifying schematic adjustments on a week-to-week basis and using those insights to guide where the strongest plays lie.
The purpose of this article is to encapsulate the reasoning behind certain plays and to share the thought process that drives my decision-making. With our NFL DFS projections and projected ownership, we can pinpoint matchups the field may be overlooking, especially when the projections on a lower-owned option aren’t much different than those on a chalkier piece.

NFL DFS DraftKings Picks: Top Stacks, RBs, WRs, & TEs for Week 4
Game Stacks
Daniel Jones ($5,600, QB, Indianapolis Colts)
Adonai Mitchell ($3,100, WR, Indianapolis Colts)
Michael Pittman Jr. ($5,100, WR, Indianapolis Colts) OR Tyler Warren ($4,600, TE, Indianapolis Colts)
Kyren Williams ($6,300, RB, Los Angeles Rams)
Puka Nacua ($7,900, WR, Los Angeles Rams) OR Davante Adams ($6,200, WR, Los Angeles Rams)
Daniel Jones has been one of the top QBs this season, averaging over 9.0 yards per attempt while showing off both his scrambling ability and improved accuracy down the field. The Giants offense is clicking, and this week sets up perfectly for Adonai Mitchell if Alec Pierce remains sidelined.
Mitchell isn’t a household name yet, but his role elevates significantly without Pierce, much like what we saw last weekend with the Panthers—when Xavier Legette sat, David Moore saw the bump in snaps while Hunter Renfrow’s role stayed static. The same dynamic applies here: Josh Downs isn’t the one picking up extra volume; it’s Mitchell.
This matchup also favors him stylistically. The Rams cornerbacks can be bullied on the perimeter, and with their safeties needing to commit to slowing the run game, Mitchell should be left in more favorable one-on-one situations. His deep-ball ability makes him a high-upside tournament play, and on film he consistently shows the traits of a breakout candidate. Unlike Michael Pittman and Tyler Warren, who will draw more defensive attention, Mitchell is the one who gets the “clean looks.”
I want this game to be high scoring, and the pricing on Mitchell makes it very possible to build around Daniel Jones while running it back with two Rams. On the Los Angeles side, the clear plays are Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams. Puka is undeniably one of the best WRs in football right now. The way Sean McVay schemes him touches is elite—manufactured targets, motion usage, and designed volume make him nearly matchup-proof. It’s only a matter of time before the touchdowns start coming his way. Meanwhile, Kyren is still dominating this backfield, handling over 70% of the snaps and controlling the red-zone work. He sets up as an excellent value this week because the Colts run defense metrics are misleading. They’ve faced game scripts that forced opponents to pass more, but when attacked on the ground, they’ve struggled. Williams’ role and volume give him a very strong floor with multi-TD upside.
