Vanek's Views: DraftKings NFL DFS Picks for Week 7
Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings for Week 7. Formerly of The 33rd Team and 4for4 Fantasy Football, Jordan’s deep dive into the best stacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends is a must-read before you start building your lineups.
As a Panthers fan, thank you Rico Dowdle. As someone who couldn’t quite believe my team was actually that good yet… man, Rico, you really hurt my builds. That was the main takeaway from Week 6 for me, and heading into Week 7, weather looks like the biggest factor across the slate.
That’s where this week’s article starts, and it’s a key reason behind how I approached each game. If you want to hear my updated thoughts once we get closer to lock, make sure to tune into the GPP Final Takes show on Sunday, where I’ll break down my authentic takes on the games I didn’t cover in this piece.
The weather is hard to predict, but with Kevin Roth’s NFL weather report, he has you covered. It’s so important to check his final forecast updates come Sunday morning.

NFL DFS DraftKings Picks: Top Stacks, RBs, WRs, & TEs for Week 7
Game Stacks
Bo Nix ($5,600, QB, Denver Broncos)
Courtland Sutton ($5,900, WR, Denver Broncos)
Marvin Mims ($3,500, WR, Denver Broncos)
Cam Skattebo ($6,500, RB, New York Giants)
Nix is my favorite quarterback on the slate this weekend. The price discount compared to the chalky top-end QBs makes him especially appealing. He draws a great matchup against a Giants defense that plays a ton of man coverage. Among quarterbacks with at least 30 dropbacks against man this season, Nix ranks 9th in the NFL in yards per attempt. I’m also hoping we see him return to his 2023 form (when he posted an 11.3 average depth of target against man coverage) rather than his current 7.4. The Giants have allowed the 4th-most air yards and are tied for 2nd in completions on throws 20+ yards downfield, per Fantasy Points.
When it comes to stacking options, two players stand out: Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims. Sutton is the easy target. He leads the team against man coverage and carries a great narrative this week with the Broncos honoring Demaryius Thomas, who was his mentor. On top of that, in games where Sutton has seen 4 or fewer targets the week prior, he’s averaged 10 targets in the following game.
Mims is more of a boom-or-bust play. You’re chasing the deep shot here, but against this secondary, he has the speed and skill to connect on a big-play touchdown. He’s not a must, but he’s a strong addition if you’re betting on this game to open up downfield.
You don’t necessarily need a run-back player against this defense, but if you want to capture the full game environment, Skattebo is the ideal option. He’s handled 20+ opportunities in 3 straight games, and if the Giants jump out to an early lead, his workload and pass-catching role would make him the primary piece to benefit.
