- D’Andre Swift More Than 54.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards
Jordan Addison – Most Receiving Yards of Game (+1100), FanDuel
In last year’s Week 2 showdown between the Vikings and Eagles, Darius Slay made life extremely difficult on Justin Jefferson when he was in man coverage. Jefferson struggled to gain separation, and when he did gain separation, it was often too late after the snap for Kirk Cousins to find him. On Thursday, expect Slay to once again follow Jefferson around the field, everywhere except in the slot. Ahead of kickoff this evening, the Eagles have ruled out safety Reed Blankenship and cornerback James Bradberry. In their place, Philadelphia will turn to the inexperienced Josh Jobe at cornerback and likely Terrell Edmunds at safety, who has allowed 11.9 yards per reception during his NFL career, according to PFF. Addison had a reduced snap count in Week 1, but figures to see more time on the field in this matchup as Minnesota looks to take advantage of an ailing Philadelphia secondary unit with three-wide receiver sets. He could be in for a breakout game if the Vikings offensive line is able to perform adequately in pass protection.
Alexander Mattison o47.5 Rushing Yards (-110), FanDuel
Alexander Mattison had only 34 rushing yards in Week 1, but he had 11 rushing attempts, which was eight more than any other running back on the Minnesota roster. Simply, Mattison faces very little competition for touches on the ground in this backfield and tonight, has an underrated matchup against an injury-plagued Philadelphia defense. Earlier this week, the Eagles placed linebacker Nakobe Dean, one of the better run defenders in the league, on injured reserve. Defensive lineman Fletcher Cox, also a strong run defender, is questionable for tonight’s contest after failing to log a full practice at any point leading up to kickoff. This is not the same Philadelphia run defense that held the New England Patriots to 2.5 yards per carry in their season opener.
NFL DFS Pick’em
D’Andre Swift More Than 54.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards, PrizePicks
In the season opener, D’Andre Swift was a non-factor, totaling only one carry and one reception for an aggregate of three yards. However, he should see a much bigger role on Thursday Night Football with starting running back Kenneth Gainwell having been ruled out. Swift and Boston Scott were the only two other running backs on the active roster in Week 1, and neither player was heavily involved in the offense. Yet, only Swift had his name mentioned by head coach Nick Sirianni in the aftermath of the game as someone who they will look to get more touches in the coming weeks. This is a relatively low number for someone who could be the featured back this evening. Gainwell had 74 rushing plus receiving yards in Week 1. Swift should be able to get close to that level of production if he is given enough snaps.
