Watch, Predict, Win with WinView and RotoGrinders

If you didn’t catch Dan Back’s recent Daily Fantasy Fix, you missed him talking with Jason Shapiro, the Marketing Director for WinView Games. A new player in the daily fantasy scene, WinView offers a completely unique concept that is an action-oriented, in-game experience.

“Where fantasy ends, is where WinView begins,” Jason told Dan. He explained further that WinView is an appointment driven game in that you react to various questions posed to you through their app throughout the course of the game.

It starts with 4-6 pregame proposition questions and contests are broken down by real life quarters, periods, or innings of game action. You get additional questions to answer during the course of the game – usually on a commercial break, or in the case of the NBA when there is a two shot foul.

For NBA, you start with 5,000 units, or if you want to think of it in poker terms… chips, and have to assign a value you are willing to risk on each question you are given. There are four bet types you can make: 250, 500, 750 and a 1,000 “one shot” that can only be used once per contest (and does not deduct from your “stack”). Read all the Official Rules for WinView Games here.

One of the common pre-game questions for NBA contests is “Who will win the opening tip off?” Here are the W-L records for opening tip offs for the two teams (and who did the tip off) playing tonight. The edge goes to Golden State, especially if Tristan Thompson is starting (and likely doing the tip off).

Golden State (9-8)
Kevin Durant (5-7)
JaVale McGee (4-1)

Cleveland (6-12)
Tristan Thompson (2-5)
Kevin Love (4-6)
Jeff Green (0-1)

Had a bad quarter? No problem. Player injured? No problem. Game a blowout? No problem.

With contests that last for just a quarter, you won’t face many of the typical issues you face in standard daily fantasy sports contests. If you had a bad quarter, you can always sign up for the next available contest. If a player is injured, you’re not drawing dead as you’ll continue to get new questions to answer and can adjust your strategy based on how that injury impacted your previous answers. If the game is a blowout, you’ll get questions about players that are in the game, not ones that are sitting on the bench.
