2022 Zozo Championship Weather Forecast and Projections for Narashino Country Club
We’re teeing off for the Zozo Championship at Narashino Country Club this week, and it starts ugly on day 1.
As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps to soften and slow the course, meaning it helps as much as it hurts. With wind there’s no helpful side, it’s all negative impact, and the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the timeframe with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can use then use this to your advantage making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Zozo Championship Weather Report & Forecast
Round 1 Weather Projection – Thursday, October 13th
Scattered showers all day. Likely looking at rain in the morning and afternoon. Whether or not they attempt to play through or just push it back a day I don’t know. Winds will remain a manageable 10mph throughout the day.
Round 2 Weather Projection – Friday, October 14th
Rain clears out, leaving us with a dry day for golf. Winds will stay fairly steady, around 10mph for both the morning and afternoon.
Round 3 Weather Projection – Saturday, October 15th
Great golfing weather here as the rain stays away and the winds drop a bit. Sustained winds should be in the 5-10mph range through the day.
Round 4 Weather Projection – Sunday, October 16th
A repeat of the Saturday forecast, with dry weather and light winds to close things out.
Overall Zozo Championship Weather Forecast
As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. In this case our widespread rain on Day 1 is the most significant weather factor, but there’s no real betting / DFS edge that comes from it, as both the AM and PM wave will be dealing with similar conditions. While the rain clears for Day 2, the winds stay steady, again leaving no real weather-edge. So while weather will play a factor in this tournament, especially on Day 1, I don’t see any way to take advantage of it. Stay tuned to @KevinRothWx for the latest.
