College Football Rivalry Week: A Pick and Three Leans

One thing that I have learned about betting college football over the years, is to be extremely wary of laying a big number with a favorite in ANY rivalry matchup. Rivalry Week lines are inflated for at least four reasons – general interest in betting on marquee matchups, the public’s tendency to back favorites, the extended time period (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) over which the games take place, and the timing of the schedule coinciding with a massive holiday – Thanksgiving weekend.
