College Football Saturday Picks: Two Conference Championships, and a Rescheduled Rivalry
Games played at this point of the college football season are typically contested on neutral fields – making point spread estimations a clean power ranking comparison, without having to adjust for home field advantage. That is not the case, however, with any of the three games featured in my picks this week – two conference championship rematches hosted by the regular season conference champion, and the northern California Big Game rivalry which was rescheduled due to the wildfires.
Before jumping into the picks, here are two non sequitur underdog trends to consider for Utah (+6) vs. Washington and Texas (+8) vs. Oklahoma, in their neutral site Pac-12 and Big-12 conference championship games: Tom Herman is 13-1 against the spread as an underdog, and Kyle Whittingham is 14-5-1 against the number in his last 20 games as an underdog.
