Revealed! NFL Fantasy Football Fans Behaviors And More

A new survey of NFtL Fantasy Football fans by RotoGrinders has found that almost half are using their work hours to play the game, and more than a quarter would let Taylor Swift decide their team if they could.

Having polled 3,062 Fantasy Football fans across the USA, the results make for a surprising picture of what influences players, and how superstitious they are.

Both platforms are popular among fantasy fans, though Sleeper in particular is renowned for daily fantasy football.

Almost half of the fans who responded (41%) reported some kind of weekly ritual or another action that they believed could influence the success or failure of their NFL Fantasy Football team with only 17% dismissing the idea completely.

Meanwhile, 26% of people surveyed said they would drop Travis Kelce if his relationship with Taylor Swift ended, and that they’d change their team based on Swift’s own picks if she made them public.

Not everyone is a “Swiftie” however — 37% said that they strongly disagreed with the suggestion they would remove Kelce if the power couple ended their courtship, and another 37% also had no time for the idea of changing their team based on Taylor’s version.

The majority (51%) also said that they did not play NFL Fantasy Football during work hours although that included 40% who didn’t actually play the game at all. If they were not counted, the number of users not taking time out during the working day dropped to just 12% — still the single most popular answer but not by much.

Nearly half of the survey respondents admitted to using work hours to tweak their teams instead of focusing on their job. They were even able to estimate the number of man-hours lost per week.

The most popular answer, at 11%, was up to two hours every week, followed by up to an hour and less than one hour, both on 8%.

At the extreme end of the scale, less than 1% said they spent over eight hours in their working week messing with their team, but 3% did admit to spending around eight hours — that’s a lot of Fantasy Football at your desk in a week!

How the survey was created

RotoGrinders asked 3,062 Fantasy Football fans across the USA a series of questions to explore their habits and beliefs, focusing on how certain factors influence player decisions. The survey answers were then collated and presented in the results tables above.
