THE BAT Projected Lineups
Before official lineups are released, these are the lineups THE BAT is projecting each starting pitcher against. Whenever possible, these will be the same projected lineups as the RotoGrinders Starting Lineups page. On rare occasions (such as double-headers), THE BAT will instead use the previous lineup a team used against a RHP/LHP (with a few automated adjustments) to determine what lineup to project each starting pitcher against. This page displays these lineups (or the official lineups, once released). Several users have requested this to get a sense of how THE BAT’s projections may change once official lineups are released. If a team’s star player could be out of the lineup today and the projected lineup has him playing, that could significantly change the opposing pitcher’s (and his own team’s) projections. This page also lists each team’s combined, weighted, underlying strikeout rate against the starting pitcher’s handedness, so you can get a sense of which teams are more strikeout-prone for the SP’s matchup.
