Game Selection

Big Idea: Proper game selection is just as important as bankroll management and lineup construction.

Quick Test: Did you read Lesson 1? If you did (virtual fist bump). If not, please go back and read it because it directly applies to this lesson.

Game selection is another important aspect that a lot of players overlook. Cash games primarily consist of head-to-heads (H2H), 50/50’s, double-ups, triple-ups, and three-player contests.

Which ones should you play? This is where trial and error comes into play. I suggest playing all of the game types or at least H2H’s, 50/50, and double-ups at low buy-in levels for at least a couple of weeks or a month. This will allow you a large enough sample size to get a gauge which ones you are best at (Lesson #1).
