Price
What’s price got to do with it?
Whenever I initially assess a daily fantasy sports slate, I like to do so independent of price. While I say that, however — and while it sounds good — this is not entirely true, for the simple fact that I will always have a pretty good idea, without even looking at player pricing, of the general range in which certain players are going to be priced. Watch: once you start paying attention to player pricing each week, across the NFL — and once you begin to follow the NFL as closely as you should (reading each and every blurb on the RotoWorld app each and every day, reading fantasy football and daily fantasy football articles from a variety of “experts” and a variety of perspectives, keeping up with FantasyPros rankings, and even keeping up with beat writers on Twitter and wherever else they are sharing their insights and thoughts) — you will find that you generally know the range in which a player is going to be priced as well, even before you look at player pricing.
Even still, this is a step I like to take: I always like to conduct my initial research without even looking at the pricing, as this helps me ensure I am “liking the players I am liking because I actually like them,” rather than simply liking them because I noticed how cheap they are.
Let me say that again:
By doing all my initial research before looking at player pricing, I am able to ensure I like the players I like because I actually like them, rather than simply liking them because I noticed how cheap they are.
