Kevin Roth's weather forecast for this week's PGA Tour event is up in the main forum. According to Roth, there is a chance to gain an edge in terms of predicted weather this week. While the edge is not "groundbreaking" it looks like golfers who play Thursday AM and Friday PM could have less weather to deal with over the first two rounds. Rain and higher winds move increase through late Thursday afternoon. Forecasted winds ( 10mph) are expected to drop as the day progresses on Friday. By no means is this a scenario where you fade players in a draw due to weather, but you could make a case for staking either wave this week.

Carolinas native Chesson Hadley enters this week's Wells Fargo Championship with hopes of finding his game on a course where he has played well in the past. Despite a poor first showing at Quail Hollow Hadley has managed to gain almost 14 shots tee to green in his last four starts at Quail Hollow. With three top 20 or better showings in his four tries at Quail Hollow Hadley has a game that seems to play well at this venue. Entering this week on back to back missed cuts, Hadley stands out as a value worth taking a shot on due to his decrease in price.

Almost two years removed from having to earn his way back to the PGA Tour via the Web.com Tour, Chesson Hadley enters this week with a bit of momentum. Despite his fair share of water balls at last week's API, Hadley recorded his second straight top 20 or better finish. Currently ranked inside the top 40 in the FedEx Cup race, Hadley has only made six cuts this season but has played well enough to finish inside the top 25 in five of those events. Truly a boom or bust option at this point of the season, Hadley's record at TPC Sawgrass mirrors his recent play. Hadley is 2 for 4 in cuts made over the last five years at The Players, with his two cuts resulting in a top 25 or better finish. While his inconsistent play might scare those who are a little risk tolerant, Hadley has all the makings of a great value play for the week.

Each and every week on the PGA Tour it's so important to nail a few value plays for your DFS golf rosters. With this week's event having a guaranteed three rounds of play, there is a strong argument to take a different approach to the selection of your value plays. While we are always on the hunt for upside, an event that like this one tends to favor a bit more risk-taking than normal. Normally we like our value plays to have the safety of making the cut, but this week more than any we care less about cut making and more about the probability of a golfer posting a top ten or better finish. Fresh off a really strong showing at The WMPO, Chesson Hadley is trending as the top overall play in our DraftKings projection model in terms of Pt/$/K for the week. Playing in his fifth Pebble Beach Pro-AM Hadley will look to improve on his two top tens at this event. Since rejoining the tour full-time last year, Hadley has posted nine top ten or better finishes in his 39 starts. In terms of play with celling, Hadley stands out as a player who can really outperform his price point for the week.

At this point, last season Chesson Hadley was in a position to get his PGA Tour career back on track. Hadley had to earn his way back on tour via The Web.Com tour and with a solid 2018 campaign, he can now focus on playing well in the new year. Currently ranked inside the top 30 in this year's FedEx Cup standings, Hadley enters this week looking to bounce back from a missed cut at last week's Desert Classic. With 15 top 25 or better finishes in his last 36 PGA Tour starts, Hadley has shown the ability to compete with the best in the game. Priced down a bit this week, Hadley has the talent and ability to make him one of the top players in terms of Pt/$/K in our projections for the week. Strokes gained tee to green will be a popular metric used for Torrey Pines and Hadley finished inside the top 40 in that category last season making him a player who should pop in some models this week.

At this point last season Chesson Hadley was perhaps the hottest golfer on tour. Three straight top four or better finishes allowed Hadley the luxury of playing the 2018 season stress-free in terms of keeping his card. Fast forward a year and Hadley needs a good week in order to fend off a poor start at last week's Safeway Open. While his missed cut is a bit disconcerting, Hadley finished only one shot out of playing the weekend at The Safeway Open. A deeper dive into Hadley's second round revels that he had plenty of opportunities to play well inside the cut line on Friday. Over his final nine holes, Hadley hit every green but one and missed multiple close-range birdie putts. Priced down due to poor recent play Hadley has the talent and long-term form worthy of a roster spot for the week. At $6,800 on DraftKings, Hadley stands out as the number one player in terms of Pt/$/K on our model for the week.

Prior to last week's Dell Technologies Championship Chesson Hadley and Tony Finau were the only two golfers to reside inside of the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings for the entirety of the season. While Finau is comfortably inside the top 30, Hadley's poor finish to the season has him currently ranked in the 36th position in the standings. Looking to finish the year strong, Hadley's early season's success combined with his rock bottom price has this former PGA Tour winner atop our DraftKings rankings in terms of Pt/$K. While it's certainly easy to see that Hadley has not played the type of golf of late that he started the season with, there is still merit for taking a $6,300 player in a no-cut event. Assuming no injury or early withdrawal, Hadley would crush value if he were to somehow finish inside the top 25 for the week. Searching for his best finish since the first week of July, Hadley has plenty to play for if he hopes to make it to East Lake in a few weeks.

The poor recent form in comparison to his potential from earlier in the season makes this a great spot to jump on Hadley. With a chance to still make it to East Lake, Hadley has plenty of incentive to finish the season strong, and in the small field this week, he is one of the few valued priced players with a proven history of success in terms of high finishes.
