Ricky Seals-Jones Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

WAS WR Curtis Samuel and TE Ricky Seals-Jones ruled out for Sunday; TE Sammis Reyes questionable

Curtis Samuel and Ricky Seals-Jones have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, while Sammis Reyes has been listed questionable. With Samuel once again ruled out, Cam Sims and Adam Humphries will continue to play larger roles in the Washington passing attack behind Terry McLaurin. With Seals-Jones ruled out, John Bates will see the bulk of the tight end snaps and could be considered as a value option based on expected volume. Reyes is expected to serve as the backup to Bates and isn't expected to see enough work to be DFS relevant.

WAS WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) and TE Ricky Seals-Jones (concussion) DNP Thursday

Curtis Samuel (hamstring) and Ricky Seals-Jones (concussion) logged DNPs Thursday ahead of Washington’s matchup against the New York Giants this Sunday. If Samuel were once again to be ruled out, Cam Sims and Adam Humphries would continue to play larger roles in the Washington passing attack behind Terry McLaurin. If Seals-Jones were to be ruled out, John Bates would see the bulk of the tight end snaps and could be considered as a value option based on expected volume. It will be important to monitor the practice status of Samuel and Seals-Jones as the week progresses.

WAS WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) and TE Ricky Seals-Jones (concussion) DNP Wednesday

Curtis Samuel (hamstring) and Ricky Seals-Jones (concussion) both logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of Washington's matchup against the New York Giants this Sunday.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic DNP Wednesday; TE Ricky Seals-Jones returned to practice

J.D. McKissic logged a DNP Wednesday while Ricky Seals-Jones returned to practice ahead of Washington's matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. McKissic missed last week and could be set to miss another week if he is unable to clear the concussion protocol. If he were to miss, Antonio Gibson would play the majority of the snaps and be a tremendous play this weekend with Jaret Patterson, Jonathan Williams (recently signed off the Giants practice squad), and Wendell Smallwood (currently on the practice squad and "sore" after this weekend's game) available to back him up. Seals-Jones looks like he will be able to return at the perfect time for Washington as Logan Thomas is officially done for the rest of the season. Seals-Jones should see the majority of the tight end snaps with John bates as his primary backup and Sammis Reyes also available. Seals-Jones should be considered a decent value option at the position this weekend in DFS contests.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones inactive Sunday

Ricky Seals-Jones has been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Seals-Jones has been dealing with an injury and will once again be unable to suit up meaning John Bates and Sammis Reyes will back up Logan Thomas. Thomas can be considered in most formats as he should be close to seeing his full workload.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic (concussion) ruled out for Sunday; WR Curtis Samuel (groin) and TE Ricky Seals-Jones (hip) questionable

J.D. McKissic (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders while Curtis Samuel (groin) and Ricky Seals-Jones (hip) have been listed as questionable. McKissic's absence will likely lead to more work for Antonio Gibson and Jaret Patterson while HC Ron Rivera also mentioned the possibility of Wendell Smallwood (currently on the practice squad) playing a role on third downs. Gibson is likely to be the biggest beneficiary and should be considered in most lineups as this could be a breakout week for him. Curtis Samuel seems to have responded well to his first game action last week and will likely see a little more work this week if he is cleared. Seals-Jones (if available) should slot into his backup tight end role behind Logan Thomas who returned last week.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic (concussion) DNP Wednesday; TE Ricky Seals-Jones (hip) returned to practice

J.D. McKissic logged a DNP Wednesday while Ricky Seals-Jones returned to practice ahead of their game Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. With McKissic's status in question, Antonio Gibson could be in line for a larger role leading the backfield with Jaret Patterson backing him up. Gibson would become a much better play and could be considered in most formats if McKissic was forced to miss. Seals-Jones seems to be trending in the right direction to make a return Sunday where he should slot back into his role backing up Logan Thomas pushing John Bates down the depth chart.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones listed doubtful for Monday; WR Curtis Samuel listed questionable; TE Logan Thomas expected to be activated and play

Ricky Seals-Jones has been listed doubtful for Monday's game against the Seattle Seahawks while Curtis Samuel has been listed questionable. The writing was on the wall for Seals-Jones as he was unable to log a practice this week, however it does seem like Logan Thomas should be able to make his return. Thomas should serve as the primary tight end for Washington but could be on a limited snap count meaning more work for John Bates. Curtis Samuel is also expected to make his return and be on a snap count as well, limiting his upside and that of the other Washington receivers outside of Terry McLaurin whou should continue to dominate the target share.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones listed out for Sunday; WR Curtis Samuel listed questionable

Ricky Seals-Jones has been listed out for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers while Curtis Samuel has been listed questionable. It seemed as though Seals-Jones was trending this way after missing every day of practice this week, so his status on the injury report comes as no surprise. Washington is still hopeful that Logan Thomas will be able to be activated off IR but won't make a decision on that until tomorrow. If Thomas is able to return he will instantly regain his role as the top tight end for Washington with John Bates and Sammis Reyes available to back him up. If Thomas is unable to play, Bates and Reyes should split the tight end snaps. If Samuel is able to play he will be on a "tight snap count" according to HC Ron Rivera, so the receiving corps should still be led by Terry McLaurin, Adam Humphries, and DeAndre Carter.

WAS WR Curtis Samuel and TE Ricky Seals-Jones DNP Thursday

Curtis Samuel and Ricky Seals-Jones both logged DNPs again Thursday ahead of Washington's matchup with the Carolina Panthers. If Samuel is once again unable to suit up this weekend, the receiving corps will be led by Terry McLaurin, DeAndre Carter, and Adam Humphries. McLaurin would remain the top play here and would be expected to see a high volume of targets in a heavy passing attack for Washington, though it would still be a very tough matchup against the Carolina defense. There is still hope that Logan Thomas will be able to make his return from the IR on time to suit up this weekend. If Thomas is able to return Seals-Jones's status won’t be too important but If Thomas were once again to be out Seals-Jones would be in line to continue to play a massive role in the offense and offer a value option at the position. If both were to be out, John Bates and preseason standout Sammis Reyes would likely split time at the position. It will be important to monitor the status of both Seals-Jones and Thomas as the week progresses.
