How to Display Sportsbook Odds at Kalshi: Step-by-Step
Here’s how to see sportsbook odds (-100) rather than percentages (50%) and contract prices ($0.50):
- Go to the Explore tab and select Sports.
- Tap the gear icon.
- Choose Sports fan mode.
- Tap Done.
Note: Sports fan mode is only available on the Kalshi app. The desktop version does not support traditional sportsbook odds.
How to Read Sportsbook Odds at Kalshi
Need a refresher of American sportsbook odds? Here’s how to read lines at Kalshi:
Imagine we’re looking at lines for the Miami at Pittsburgh game.
In the traditional Prediction mode, like at other prediction market apps, Kalshi indicates that Miami has a 39% chance of winning. You can buy the Yes contract for Miami to win for $0.39, and the No contract for $0.62. A correct contract pays out $1, and an incorrect contract pays out nothing.
Now, if you switch to Sports fan mode, the moneyline odds would be +156 for Miami to win and -163 for Pittsburgh to win.
The positive odds indicate that Miami is an underdog, which makes sense as the contract costs less and would pay out more if you’re correct.
Conversely, the negative odds for Pittsburgh mean that they’re the favorite and will pay out less if they win since they’re more likely to come out on top anyway.

Sports fan mode at Kalshi feels more familiar to sports bettors or anyone familiar with traditional betting lines.

Just keep in mind that player prop availability depends on the timeframe, your location, and the league you’re trying to trade on.
