49ers vs. Seahawks Same Game Parlay Picks and Predictions for Today

After brutal losses for each team, the Seahawks and 49ers will rekindle their division rivalry for Thursday Night Football. Injuries on both sides of the football continue to burden the 49ers while the Seahawks are struggling to find a stop on defense. Geno Smith is among the league leaders in passing attempts and yardage, and the new-look Seahawks seem to be fond of the forward pass. Will the 49ers right the ship as road favorites?

49ers vs. Seahawks Same Game Parlay Preview

On DraftKings Sportsbook, you will find the San Francisco 49ers listed as 3.5-point favorites on the road. This despite a devastating loss to the Arizona Cardinals where the loss of a kicker and ill-timed turnovers cost the 49ers an important divisional win. Despite ranking second in yards per play and 10th in scoring offense, the 49ers can’t seem to convert wins.

ScoresAndOdds shows a completely one-sided split for betting action on the spread for Thursday Night Football. More than 75% of tickets and dollars reside with San Francisco. Despite a short week and divisional rivalry, bettors expect points. The implied game total climbed more than 2 points over the week — currently resting at 49.5 points as of this writing. Seattle is just behind the 49ers in points per game and rank 10th in yards per play.

The Seahawks defense sustained additional injuries and will struggle to right the ship after the Giants moved the ball at will in Week 5. Uchenna Nwosu (LB) landed on the IR, while Byron Murphy II won’t play with a hamstring injury. CB Tariq Woolen will also miss the game with an ankle injury. Seattle struggled to stop the Giants running game and were beaten in the deep passing game by Darius Slayton multiple times.

The 49ers get good news and bad news in Week 6. The good news is both George Kittle and Fred Warner were removed from the injury report. Both will play on Thursday night. The bad news is Talanoa Hufanga is hurt again and was placed on the IR with a wrist injury. Charvarius Ward is questionable with a knee injury. The 49ers are allowing 5.6 yards per play and significantly more points than their 2023 team. Injuries won’t help. Matthew Wright will take over kicking duties for a few weeks as Jake Moody recovers from his high ankle sprain.

The Seahawks rushing defense took a beating in Week 5 — allowing 175 rushing yards to the Giants. Tyrone Tracy compiled 129 rushing yards. Tracy put together a big game after the Detroit running backs combined for 120 rushing yards in Week 4. The injuries to the Seattle front have kept the defense on the field. Jordan Mason will be licking his chops as the workhorse back for San Francisco. The 49ers will likely prepare a game plan to get their back 20+ carries.

As a result of the rush defense woes, the Seahawks have been playing catch-up for a couple of weeks. Geno Smith continues to pile up passing attempts. The Seahawks lead the NFL with 39.8 pass attempts per game. Despite the emphasis, Seattle sits in the middle of the pack in yards per pass attempt.

The 49ers defense has sprung a few leaks to opposing running backs as well. James Conner ran for 89 yards last week and was a load to take down late in the game. The Seahawks could deploy Kenneth Walker after being shut down by the Giants defense. Walker would take some pressure off of a passing game that is forced into passing situations too often. Despite a rough performance against New York, Walker is averaging 5.5 yards per carry in 2024.

When the Seahawks are fighting from behind, Geno Smith has exploited defenses stuck in man coverage. Smith has 38 and 72 rushing yards over the past 2 weeks playing catch-up. If the 49ers can take an early lead, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Geno Smith get loose if the 49ers defensive backs turn their backs to the quarterback.

Let’s comb through some props and build our same game parlay for Thursday Night Football.

Same Game Parlay Picks for 49ers vs. Seahawks

Geno Smith Over 15.5 Rushing Yards

I alluded to Geno’s recent rushing prowess in our breakdown. Smith seems to flourish on the ground when the Seahawks are in catch-up mode. I do believe the 49ers will win this football game and will likely play with a lead. Jordan Mason will receive plenty of work, and the Seahawks are going to be passing with their fewer opportunities on offense.

When Geno is passing, he will run when the secondary turns their backs on him. Smith is quick enough to take advantage of plenty of real estate and chunked huge yardage against the Giants. Even if the game is close or the Seahawks are ahead, we shouldn’t be shocked if Geno cuts loose on a few scampers.

I think the heavy Seattle passing script will be the basis of our build. Let’s continue.

Jordan Mason Over 83.5 Rushing Yards

Jordan Mason will be the reason why the Seahawks find themselves in comeback mode in the second half. After watching Tyrone Tracy and the Lions run roughshod into the Seattle secondary, I anticipate Jordan Mason will experience similar success. The difference for me is Kyle Shanahan. Known as one of the better designers of running plays in the NFL, Mason should be able to take advantage of room through the Seattle front.

Mason has 20 or more carries in 3 games this season and has only finished under this mark once. Against this rushing defense, I expect his success rate to improve.

Tyler Lockett Over 3.5 Receptions

Finally, we continue with the passing script for the Seahawks and wager on Mr. Reliable. With three mouths to feed in the passing game, Tyler Lockett does not receive the same attention in the fantasy and betting community as he did in years past. Despite the emergence of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Lockett continues to find a role in this offense.

Lockett has produced 4 or more catches in all but one game. He continues to receive 5 or more targets each week as Seattle continues to pass the ball. If we predict a negative game script for the Seahawks, we should anticipate the same volume for receivers against San Francisco.

The San Francisco defense is not playing at the level it has in the past. Even if San Francisco returns to form, Lockett should get enough volume to secure his catches.
