NY Yankees
- Ivan Nova really struggled in his first start this season and he just hasn’t looked very good. A matchup against the Indians could go either way, but I need to see something from him before I risk taking him on my team.
- Hard to say which Yankees to like today since I’m not positive on who the starter for the Indians is. But keep riding the hot bat of Robinson Cano. He is on fire right now.
Cleveland
- Are we going to see a Brett Myers start? Right now that’s all I can find, but if I remember correctly, he threw about 60 pitches in last night’s game so I highly doubt he will get the start. But one thing is for sure, whoever is starting for the Indians isn’t a great option.
- I think I will keep taking Nick Swisher until his price either increases or until they move him out of the clean up spot. I think there is just too much value there not to take him, especially against Nova who will likely get rocked. Asdrubal Cabrera is another guy I would consider, he is playing well and is one of the more powerful SS’s in the league.

Chicago White Sox
- Gavin Floyd was actually pretty decent on the road last season, but my philosophy on pitchers is why take one that is expected to lose? Especially on a site that places a big emphasis on pitcher’s getting wins. I think Floyd will pitch well, but fall short of the W.
- Interleague play hurts the research because these teams rarely ever face each other. Zimmerman is a good pitcher and had really good numbers at home last season. Nothing to love about that.
Washington
- Jordan Zimmerman only had 1 K in his first start of the season against the Marlins, but you have to think that he will pick that up today against the White Sox. Because this is interleague play, we don’t have much BvP to work off of, but Zimmerman was really good at home last season and I like him today.
- For the Nationals, I think Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman are good plays. Adam LaRoche made a lot of people happy last night with his homer and he is a guy that can really get on a tear so he is worth a look as well.

Baltimore
- Jake Arrieta has not fared well against the Red Sox in his career. The over/under on the game is 9 and he is the underdog. Take him if you like, but I will be looking for a better option.
- Adam Jones is in the zone right now. My favorite part about taking Jones is that no one ever seems to have him. Chris Davis gets love, but Jones is always the forgotten one. Fine by me.
Boston
- Ryan Dempster was a Cy Young candidate at the beginning of last year, it’s crazy how fast things can change when you make a move to the AL. The Orioles are a solid offense and I think both pitchers are going to give up runs today.
- The Red Sox all have good BvP against Arrieta in the past. Victorino is 3/3, Ellsbury is 2/5 with 2 HR’s, Pedroia is 4/11, Nava is 3/5, Middlebrooks is 2/3. You have to think that these numbers aren’t a fluke. Expect a big day offensively from the Red Sox.

ATL BvP | MIA BvP | ||||||
ATL vs R | MIA vs L | ||||||
| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Atlanta
- Mike Minor is a young pitcher that I really like. He used to be a guy that you could only take at home, but as he has matured, I think he is a much more complete pitcher now. A matchup with the Marlins is one that I love. He is at the top of my list today.
- Justin Upton keeps producing and if you can get him for a decent price, I like his value today but most likely he is too expensive to take. Jason Heyward has good BvP against Sanabia and could be in play.
Miami
- Alex Sanabia threw 6 scoreless innings in his first start of the year against the Mets. Not bad, but he only ended up with 1 K. Not exactly a fantasy stud.
- Giancarlo Stanton has 2 HR’s in only 6 at bats against Minor, but Stanton just hasn’t looked the same this year. It hurts him not having any other powerful bats in the lineup because pitchers have found ways to pitch around him. I will pass on him and the rest of his team against a tough Mike Minor.

| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Milwaukee
- Kyle Lohse is a really solid pitcher that often gets overlooked. Last season he finished with a 2.86 ERA and a 16-3 record. A little surprising huh? Great matchup for him today with the Cubs.
- Expect this game to be more about pitching than hitting. I think the Brewers get the best of Feldman, but I think the runs could come from the bottom of the lineup.
Chicago Cubs
- Remember last season whenever Scott Feldman was playing, it seemed like everyone would stack the team against him? It’s a little different this year now that he isn’t pitching in Arlington, but I still don’t think he is a very good pitcher.
- Alfonso Soriano and David Dejesus both have had success against Lohse in the past, but the rest of the team has really struggled. I’m staying away from the Cubs batters today.
