COL vs R | COL BvP | MIA vs R | MIA BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – COL -135
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Tom Koehler 5.06 ERA and .270 BAA at home do not instill any confidence in me to select him considering the fact that he plays in front of the league’s worst offense. He has been slightly worse since the break with a 4.59 ERA and .307 BAA. Plus, he is not a high K/9 players so there is nothing exciting about him. COL is batting .249 on the road, .267 versus right-handers, and .270 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2
- Away Jhoulys Chacin is worth a long look in a multiple pitcher site. He draws the easiest matchup of the day and is a very good pitcher on the road with a 2.14 ERA. He has gone 2-3 with a 2.55 ERA since the All-Star Break. He seems to be a lock to get the win but does not get enough Ks to be a factor in a single pitcher format. MIA is batting .235 at home, .234 versus right-handers, and .264 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7
Batter Grind Down
- Home Left-handers are batting .276 versus Chacin. If I were to take anyone from MIA it would be Logan Morrison or Christian Yelich. Giancario Stanton has been hot with 29.5 fp and has hit 13 of his 16 HRs at home. RG Stack Rating 1
- Away Granted the game was in COL, the last time COL saw Koehler they had a .306 BAA in that game. LeMahieu went 3-4, Tulowitzki went 2-4 with 1 HR, and Michael Cuddyer was 2-4 as well. Wilin Rosario has been super hot with 32 fp over the last 7 days. Troy Tulowitzki and Charlie Blackmon have been hot as well. RG Stack Rating 6

MIL vs R | MIL BvP | CIN vs R | CIN BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – CIN -200
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Homer Bailey has run into a bit of an HR problem lately. He has given up 5 HRs in the month of August. He has 7 since the All-Star Break. He had only 9 before the break. He has only allowed 4 HRs at home all year, though. All but two of those 7 HR came on the road. The question you have to ask yourself is weather or not the recent HR spike is a product of more road games or is the boost in HRs a mechanical issue that has recently surfaced during a stretch of road games which now has distorted his home road splits? I choose to believe the latter only because I am always looking for one reason to get off of the obvious plays. MIL is batting .248 on the road, .251 versus right-handers, and .274 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7
- Away I love Yovani Gallardo as a dark horse play tonight. He held this same CIN team scoreless in his first start back from the DL and he has a 2-1 record with a 1.65 ERA and .196 BAA versus this CIN team on the year. He only threw 82 pitches in that start but I bet they open him up a bit more tonight. Since I am not taking Bailey then I think Gallardo makes a nice move on a multiple pitcher site even as the huge dog. CIN is batting .251 at home, .250 versus right-handers, and .259 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 6
Batter Grind Down
- Home Dark Horse plays aside, Jay Bruce, Joey Votto and Shin-Soo Choo crush right-handed pitching at home. Jay Bruce is 13-34 with 2 HRs versus Gallardo. Choo has been hot with 26.25 fp over the last 7 days. RG Stack Rating 6
- Away I was half tempted to recommend Ryan Braun, Rickie Weeks, and Norichika Aoki here just to see everyone jump up into arms in the comments. Their BvPs are all sick. It has become amusing to me how some of you behave. Bailey is allowing left-handers to bat .276 versus him. Logan Schafer, Scooter Gennett and Juan Francisco are your best bets. Jonathan Lucroy is 5-16 with 1 HR versus Bailey as well. RG Stack Rating 3

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – Pick’em
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home I expect Bruce Chen ‘s ERA to level out soon. His numbers are hard to argue with though and he has been maintaining this pace for some time now. WAS is one of the easier matchups in the league. WAS is batting .227 on the road, .228 versus left-handers, and .269 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 6
- Away Gio Gonzalez numbers take a slight dip on the road but he is holding left-handers to a .165 BAA which should help him against this heavily left-handed team. I am not interested in taking a pitcher in a Pick’em game because of the gamble on the outcome but I would chose Gonzalez over Chen purely because of upside. RG Start-Ability 7
Batter Grind Down
- Home Billy Butler and Salvador Perez seem like your best bets. Eric Hosmer hits left-handers well and has been hot for KAN. RG Stack Rating 2
- Away Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth have been hot for WAS both hit right-handers very well. RG Stack Rating 2

TEX vs L | TEX BvP | CHW vs L | CHW BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – CHW -120
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Chris Sale might have a 9-11 record on the year but he has been light out at home with a 2.06 ERA and .195 BAA. He walked away with the win versus TEX in his one start against them on the year and that start was on the road. TEX is batting .254 on the road, .266 versus left-handers and .258 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 8
- Away Martin Perez is in a good spot to produce today versus CHW. He has struggled on the road with a 4.46 ERA but most of his problems have come against left-handers allowing a .305 BAA and CHW does not have much in the way of left-handed bats. It is unlikely that he out-pitches Sale but if I am not taking Sale then I would consider Perez as an against the grain GPP play. CHW is batting .247 at home, .253 versus right-handers, and .262 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 5
Batter Grind Down
- Home Dayan Viciedo, Alexie Ramirez and Adam Dunn have been productive for CHW. Dunn is that left-handed power that Perez has had problems with. RG Stack Rating 3
- Away Ian Kinsler, Adrian Beltre, Jeff Baker are your best bets against Sale. They all hit left-handers well and have positive BvPs versus him. Beltre, Elvis Andrus, Kinsler, and Craig Gentry have been hot for TEX. RG Stack Rating 2

TOR vs R | TOR BvP | HOU vs R | HOU BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – TOR -138
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Jordan Lyles has a 6.58 ERA and .306 BAA at home. He has an 8.48 ERA since the All-Star break. The only thing you need to ask yourself is how many TOR players you want to take tonight? TOR is batting .246 on the road, .254 versus right-handers, and .248 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2
- Away Todd Redmond becomes relevant again today. He had 10 Ks the last time he faced HOU. He has been pitching well with a 3.32 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. His numbers dip on the road but HOU numbers also dip at home. HOU is batting .229 at home, .235 versus right-handers, and .272 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 8
Batter Grind Down
- Home Matt Dominguez has been hot with 29.5 fp over the last 7 days. Chris Carter and Jason Castro have been productive as well for HOU. RG Stack Rating 2
- Away Stack away! Adam Lind seems like a nice option. He has been hot with 20.5 fp over the last 7 days and draws the lefty/righty splits in his favor. RG Stack Rating 9
