What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.5
- Favored Team – TEX -145
Pitcher Grind Down
TEX – Derek Holland has had a very good year posting a 3.08 ERA while striking out 8 batters per 9 innings. Usually he is almost always in play, but he is pitching in Rangers Ballpark against one of the best offenses in baseball. Nothing personal Holland, but it’s just too tough of a matchup. Avoid
BAL – Wei-Yin Chen is a pitcher that isn’t exactly a fantasy stud, but he is a guy that rarely gets shelled. His strikeout numbers are pretty low with only 5 K’s per 9 innings, but he usually keeps his ERA pretty low. By no means am I recommending taking him tonight, but temper your expectations on the Rangers bats a bit. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
TEX – I think the over/under of 9.5 is a bit high for this game. The Rangers have been hitting that under all season long at home and their matchup against Chen is average at best. I think Adrian Beltre and Ian Kinsler are in play tonight, but I wouldn’t consider them for a team stack.
BAL – The Orioles got 10 hits off of Holland the last time they faced him and I think they will do some damage against him again tonight. Manny Machado looks to be in a good spot and if you are looking for a deep sleeper pick, maybe take a flier on Brian Roberts.

CLE vs R | CLE BvP | MIN vs L | MIN BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – CLE -125
Pitcher Grind Down
MIN – Mike Pelfrey is the Charlotte Bobcats of fantasy baseball. You never want to take em, but you love taking players against em. His 5.55 ERA and 1.57 WHIP are enough for me to steer clear. Avoid
CLE – Scott Kazmir is not a pitcher that I will trust with my money. He can have big games here and there, but he can also have big blowups. He has had his struggles on the road this season with a 5.31 ERA. I favor the Twins bats over Kazmir. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
MIN – The Twins have a lot of left hand bats in their lineup and I don’t think I would take a chance on the lefties, but I think all of their right hand bats are in play. Kazmir has struggled on the road this season and I think he struggles again tonight.
CLE – If you are looking for a team to stack tonight and you only have one or two teams in the MidSummer Classic, I think the Indians are the best bet. They have good power and can really string runs together in a hurry. Oh and they are facing Mike Pelfrey!

DET vs R | DET BvP | KCR vs R | KCR BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – DET -145
Pitcher Grind Down
KC – Ervin Santana has really struggled this month. In his two July starts, he has allowed 11 earned runs while giving up 17 hits. Not the type of numbers you like to see, especially for a guy that has to face the Tigers. Santana’s price has dropped considerably, but not enough for me. Avoid
DET – Anibal Sanchez has struggled a bit since coming back from injury. He hasn’t pitched bad, he just has yet to round back into form. I think tonight could be a good spot for him against this Royals offense. Don’t expect many K’s because the Royals rarely strike out, but expect a quality start that lasts 6-7 innings. In Play
Batter Grind Down
KC – The Royals have struggled against Sanchez in the past and will likely be facing a guy that is healthy for the first time in quite a while. The Royals don’t have a lot of power in their bats and are usually a team that is safe to pass on.
DET – The Tigers have a great matchup against the struggling Sanchez. It’s hard to pay for Miguel Cabrera, but if you are playing in these big tournaments, you have to find a way to get him on at least a couple of teams. Like I said earlier, not a huge fan of BvP, but it’s hard to ignore Fielder’s 6/10 with 3 jacks against Santana.

SEA vs R | SEA BvP | HOU vs L | HOU BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – SEA -125
Pitcher Grind Down
HOU – Bud Norris is a much better pitcher at home where his ERA and WHIP are both much better than they are on the road. He draws a matchup against a much improved Mariners offense tonight. Hard to predict what will happen in this one, my gut is telling me that it’s a good spot for Norris, but the Vegas line is telling me the opposite. In Play
SEA – Pitchers are usually always in play against the Astros, but I just don’t see Joe Saunders having a very good outing tonight. He has a 5.28 ERA with a 1.610 WHIP on the road this season and faces an Astros team that isn’t too bad against lefties. Saunders has been pitching well lately, but I think that comes to an end tonight against the Stros. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
HOU – Even though I expect some runs out of the Astros, the only hitter I would trust on my team is Jose Altuve. He is batting .283 against lefties this season and is one of the few Astros that doesn’t strike out very often.
SEA – Like I said, hard to predict who will have the upper hand between the Mariner’s offense and Norris, but I’m going with Norris in this one. Kendrys Morales is a guy to keep your eye on though, he has double dong potential.

MIA vs R | MIA BvP | MIL vs R | MIL BvP |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – MIL -150
Pitcher Grind Down
MIL – Kyle Lohse is in a great spot tonight against the Marlins. After a rough start to the season, he has really turned it on lately and faces a Marlins offense that often goes into hiding. Lohse is a big favorite and should one of the most popular pitchers taken tonight, especially on multiple pitcher sites. Target
MIA – Jacob Turner has really had a nice season. 2.33 ERA, 1.111 WHIP and is averaging about 6 K’s per 9 innings. That said, I will be completely avoiding him tonight against the Brewers in Miller Park. The Brewers will have Braun back and their offense should finally be near full strength. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
MIL – I really think this will be the worst start of the season for Turner. Ryan Braun, Nori Aoki, Jean Segura, and Carlos Gomez all are in good spots tonight against Turner. Could be a very sneaky stack tonight.
MIA – Giancarlo Stanton is always in play, especially in GPP’s. The guy has incredible power. Outstide of Stanton though, there isn’t much to like about the Marlins tonight.
