MLB Player Props Today
- Johan Oviedo u4.5 strikeouts
- Ketel Marte o1.5 total bases
- Jose Ramirez more than 1.5 total bases
Johan Oviedo u4.5 strikeouts (-128), FanDuel
Entering play on Friday, the St. Louis Cardinals rank sixth-best in strikeout percentage as a team. Johan Oviedo has made his slider his primary offering this season, which has helped him generate more strikeouts than in prior years. However, there are a few factors working against him in this spot – 1) his command; 2) the umpire. Oviedo has only earned a first-pitch strike against 58 percent of his total batters faced this season, which could run up his pitch count against a St. Louis offense that is walking in over 10 percent of their plate appearances this season against right-handed pitching. Lance Barksdale, who has one of the smallest strike zones in the league, will be calling balls and strikes this evening. Oviedo might make this sweaty, but it is difficult to see him hitting the over here.
Ketel Marte o1.5 total bases (-105), BetMGM
In his career, Ketel Marte owns a .303 batting average, .874 OPS, .216 ISO, and a 131 wRC+ against left-handed pitching, compared to a .267 batting average, .748 OPS, .147 ISO, and a 100 wRC+ against right-handed pitching. Simply, he is much more dangerous against southpaws. Tonight, Marte gets to face Trevor Rogers who posted a 4.95 FIP, 1.61 WHIP, and had a .298 opponent batting average against right-handed hitters in 2022. Expect Marte to have good at-bats this evening. Trust him to get to the over at this market number.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Jose Ramirez more than 1.5 total bases, PrizePicks
Last season, Jose Ramirez had a .295 batting average, .918 OPS, .255 ISO, and a 153 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, compared to a .236 batting average, .729 OPS, .178 ISO, and a 97 wRC+ against left-handed pitching. Tonight, he gets to face one of the worst right-handed pitchers in the league – Trevor Williams. In 2022, Williams had a 5.48 FIP, 1.59 WHIP, and a .319 opponent batting average against left-handed batters. Ramirez is poised for a big night in this spot as long as he does not get walked.
