As of this writing, Friday’s 14-game MLB slate still has 12 games on track to be played. The action is scheduled to begin with a matchup between the Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins at 5:10 p.m. EST.

MLB Player Props Today

Marcus Stroman o4.5 strikeouts (-150), BetMGM

Marcus Stroman has generated at least five strikeouts in each of his first five turns through the rotation this season. Tonight, he gets to face a Miami Marlins lineup that ranks 16th in strikeout percentage across the last two weeks and 24th in strikeout percentage overall this season. Stroman also has the benefit of Roberto Oritz calling balls and strikes in this contest – one of the more strikeout-friendly umpires in Major League Baseball. Stroman has league-average swing-and-miss ability on the mound, but his command is outstanding, which should help him earn some called strikes on the corner in this matchup, especially against a Miami lineup that has taken the most called strikes in the league this year. Take the over.

Jose Barrero to record a hit (-115), BetMGM

Jose Barrero has been a colossal disappointment to begin his Major League career, but there is some optimism for him tonight in a matchup against the worst team in baseball. Prior to his last three games, during which he has gone hitless in 11 trips to the plate, Barrero posted a .297 batting average across 44 plate appearances from April 10 to April 22. In that span, he was swinging at fewer pitches outside of the strike zone and making slightly more contact overall. Berrero seemed to be figuring some things out at the dish during that time period – expect him to find a way to get on base this evening in a favorable matchup.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Tyler Anderson more than 5.0 strikeouts, PrizePicks

Entering play on Friday, the Milwaukee Brewers have the worst strikeout percentage in baseball against southpaws – striking out 3.0% more often than any other team in the league and more than twice as often as the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. Simply, Tyler Anderson has not been very good to begin the year, with only a 9.5% swinging strike rate through his first four turns in the rotation. However, he gets a favorable matchup today against this Milwaukee lineup – an offense that ranks 24th in called strike percentage across the first month of the season. Having Nate Tomlinson, a strikeout-friendly umpire, calling balls and strikes in this one should help Anderson get the job done.
