Happy Sunday! Today’s 15-game MLB slate began earlier this afternoon with a matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves, but there are still 14 contests with a first pitch scheduled for 1:35 p.m. EST or later today, for those fans who had a late start to the morning.

We went 1-2 yesterday, but we are still 11-5-2 to begin the new month and have continued to excel on pitcher props, which has been the case all year. There is plenty of opportunity once again on the player prop market today – below are three prop leans for May 7!

MLB Player Props Today

Joe Ryan u18.5 outs recorded (-170), Caesars

Joe Ryan has been excellent to begin 2023, with a 2.37 ERA, 2.50 xERA, and a 3.02 FIP through his first six turns through the rotation. However, he has only recorded more than 18 outs twice – both times against the New York Yankees. The Cleveland Guardians have been anemic at the plate, ranking 30th in OPS and 29th in ISO across the last 14 days. Still, they are Minnesota’s most significant threat in the American League Central division, which could get the bullpen into action sooner than if this was a non-divisional affair. Other than Jorge Alcala, who threw 29 pitches yesterday, this Minnesota bullpen is in pretty good shape. Take the under here and parlay it with something if you feel the juice is too much to drink.

James Outman o0.5 total bases (-110), BetMGM

James Outman has cooled off after a scorching-hot start to the new campaign, but he should be able to earn himself a base knock in this matchup against a right-handed hurler. After back-to-back days without a hit, Outman only needs a single to cash this ticket for bettors. Against right-handed pitching this year, Outman owns a .267 batting average, .937 OPS, and a 151 wRC+. Take the over in this spot.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Gerrit Cole more than 7.0 strikeouts, PrizePicks

Simply, this line does not make much sense. Gerrit Cole has eclipsed this market number in five of his seven turns through the rotation to begin 2023, including multiple times against high-contact opponents. Today, he gets a matchup with the Tampa Bay Rays, which rank 19th in strikeout percentage across the last 14 days and 13th in strikeout percentage across the last month. Adding to the favorable matchup, Cole will also have the strikeout-friendly Will Little calling balls and strikes in this one.
