On Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Golden State Warriors for Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals at 10:00 p.m. EST on ESPN.

The Warriors won Game 5 to extend this series for another game, but they are once again on the brink of elimination heading into this matchup in Hollywood. Ahead of tip-off tonight, the market is expecting the Lakers to finally finish the job, pricing them as 3-point home favorites on the spread. The total is set at over/under 220.5 points.

We are 70-67-1 on player prop recommendations to begin the postseason, including 9-3 in this series between the Warriors and Lakers. For those who would prefer to attack the player prop market rather than a side or total, we have three leans below for tonight’s action!

NBA Player Props – Warriors vs. Lakers, May 12, 2023

Stephen Curry u32.5 points (-120), FanDuel

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” as the saying goes. Stephen Curry has gone under his market number for points in all but one game in this series to date. As a result, we are simply going to keep riding this inflated market number for as long as we can. The Los Angeles Lakers have been phenomenal on the defensive end of the floor since the trade deadline. From February 15 to the end of the regular season, Los Angeles ranked fourth in opponent three-point percentage, compared to the Kings, which ranked 29th. The market is still overly inflated following Curry’s 50-point outburst in Game 7 of the opening round against the Sacramento Kings. This is a much tougher matchup for Curry, which is the reason he has “struggled” in this series so far. Expect more of the same in Game 6.

Klay Thompson u22.5 points (-125), PointsBet

We played the over on Klay Thompson in Game 5, but we are ready to admit that we were wrong for doing so. Thompson has seemingly lost all confidence in his shooting ability during this series, to the point that he has attempted 14 shots or fewer in each of the last three contests. In those three games, Thompson has not scored more than 15 points once. Throughout his career, he has been a player who has performed much better at home compared to the road. Forced to play a tough defense on the road in Game 6, Thompson is likely to hit the under on his points prop once again.

LeBron James less than 22.0 field goal attempts, PrizePicks

Refais-le! We are going back to the well again on PrizePicks – taking a play that has become a staple of these postseason articles at RotoGrinders. We have taken this same approach in each of the first 11 playoff games for the Los Angeles Lakers during this postseason – LeBron James has attempted less than 23 field goal attempts in eight of those contests. James shot the ball 18 times or less in four of his six games played against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the postseason and has now attempted 18 field goals or less in three of his first five games against the Golden State Warriors in the second round. Going back even further, James has attempted 20 field goals or less in 28 of his last 38 postseason games overall. You guys know the drill by now.
