NBA Player Props – Grizzlies vs. Lakers, April 28, 2023
- Ja Morant o6.5 rebounds
- D’Angelo Russell o5.5 assists
- LeBron James less than 19.5 field goal attempts
Ja Morant o6.5 rebounds (-140), FanDuel
Ja Morant has played in four games during this opening round series against the Los Angeles Lakers – recording at least six rebounds on three occasions and at least nine rebounds twice. Overall, Morant is averaging 11.5 rebound chances per contest, which included 13 rebound chances in Memphis’ important Game 5 victory at home. Simply, with the season on the line, Morant is going to play 40 minutes on Friday if this game is competitive. Morant should have more than enough opportunities on the glass to cash this ticket for bettors. If Jaren Jackson Jr. finds himself in foul trouble, which is not out of the realm of possible, Morant could see even more chances on the boards tonight. Take the over.
D’Angelo Russell o5.5 assists (-118), FanDuel
In the first five games of this series, D’Angelo Russell has eclipsed this market number three times. In Game 2, Russell had only four actual assists, but he still recorded 12 potential assists in that contest, indicating that he had plenty of volume in this department. In Game 4, Russell had only three assists, but that was largely due to foul trouble, with Russell playing only 29 minutes, including overtime. Russell has been the top facilitator for the Lakers in this series so far when he has managed to play defense without fouling. Take Russell to record six or more assists in this spot at home, where his shooters should be comfortable in front of the home fans and able to knock down enough shots to cash a ticket on Friday.
NBA DFS Pick’em
LeBron James less than 19.5 field goal attempts, PrizePicks
In five games to begin this series, we have cashed this play four times on PrizePicks. The market number has dropped from 23.5 to 19.5 in that span, but there is still value on the under here, with James taking on less of a scoring role so far in this postseason. In Game 2, James took 23 shots and he attempted 20 field goals in Game 3. Thus, he has still gone under this market number three times in five trips to the hardwood in this opening round matchup. James is still plenty capable of scoring the basketball, but he has never been someone who will force an unnecessary number of shots from the field. James has attempted fewer than 20 field goal attempts per game in eight different postseason runs during his career. This market number is still too high.
