NBA Player Props – Grizzlies vs. Lakers, April 26, 2023
- De’Aaron Fox o24.5 points
- Kevon Looney u11.5 rebounds
- LeBron James less than 20.5 field goal attempts
De’Aaron Fox o24.5 points (-106), FanDuel
In four games to begin his playoff career, De’Aaron Fox is averaging 31.5 points,6.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per contest. In those four games, he has scored no fewer than 24 points or taken fewer than 22 shots from the field. The reason that his market number is so low tonight is due to a fractured left index finger, which likely would have kept him out for multiple weeks if this were the regular season, according to The Athletic. Nevertheless, this is one of the most critical games in Sacramento Kings history and Fox will not be on the sidelines. When asked about his pain level, he said that he does not really feel it unless it gets hit and that the swelling in the finger has diminished significantly in recent days. The season is on the line for Sacramento in this spot. Expect Fox to be aggressive on the offensive end of the floor. As long as he can avoid falling awkwardly to the floor on drives, he should have a good opportunity to hit the over here.
Kevon Looney u11.5 rebounds (-106), Caesars
Following back-to-back extremely impressive games on the glass, the market has rapidly adjusted the market number on Kevon Looney’s rebounds ahead of Game 5. However, there are a couple of factors working against Looney in this spot. For one, Looney struggled with foul trouble in both Game 1 and Game 2 on the road in this series, with the home whistle for the Kings resulting in his playing time getting cut to 23 minutes in Game 2. The Kings have also shot the ball well at home in this opening round matchup, shooting 44.9% or better in each of their two home games. Fewer missed shots mean fewer opportunities on the glass. The under is worth a small stab here.
NBA DFS Pick’em
LeBron James less than 20.5 field goal attempts, PrizePicks
We have cashed on this prop three times in the first four games of this series. The market has adjusted slightly for Game 5, but not enough to dissuade us from running it back one more time. Prior to this season, the last time that LeBron James played in the playoffs, he attempted fewer than 22 field goal attempts in four of the six games that the Lakers played against the Phoenix Suns in the quarterfinals. In 21 postseason games the year prior, James attempted fewer than 21 field goal attempts in 16 games. James suffered a late-season injury, which forced him to miss time down the stretch earlier this spring. Following his return to action, James attempted 20 or fewer shots in six of his final eight regular season games for the Lakers. James had 16 field goals. Simply, we are going to keep running this play until the market makes a more substantial adjustment here.
