Big Events Breakdown: Another Massive Weekend In DFS

rg misc tournament recap image small

Big events remain in the daily fantasy world despite no action from the DFBC this weekend. The DraftStreet Baseball Championship is dwindling down while the King’s Crown tournament at DailyJoust is heating up. The FanDuel Elite 100 tournament launched on Friday with a couple of satellite games and DraftKings has decided to keep their $5K Clash GPP running day-in and day-out. FantasyFeud hosted a massive Mayhem Freeroll with $500 in prizes and the first, second and third round of the DOCOFS Bracket Challenge went down all weekend. There is so much going on right now that it’s near impossible to update you on all of it, but I still gotta try. Let’s get it started, this is gonna be a fun one.

DraftStreet Baseball Championship Friday Night Qualifier

Our Friday night DSBC Champion for the 200-man event was a Grinder who you may have seen around here and there, he goes by the name of Sprom. Sprom not only won the event Friday, he ran away with it. He dropped the hammer on the DSBC Friday night to the tune of 94.05 points. The second place finisher, Heibs22 threw up an impressive 82.75 with a good mix of hitters including a few Diamonbacks as well as some quality pitching from Lincecum, Shields and Jered Weaver. But Sprom was not to be beat on this night, as his full on Diamondbacks stack ran away with it. That seemed to be the theme of the whole weekend across MLB, stack the Diamondbacks and win some coin. Sprom also was the beneficiary of solid outputs from James Shields, Ivan Nova and Jered Weaver. We will see if Sprom can keep bringing the heat in the DSBC finals!

FanDuel Elite 100 $2 Saturday Satellite Qualifier

There were 3 qualifier events in total this weekend, but you will have to settle for only a breakdown of the $2 event. Much like Friday night’s DSBC victor, the winner of one of the Elite 100 seats on Saturday stacked the Diamondbacks and was handsomely rewarded by Jason Kubel and the gang. Plumber is the name of the Elite 100 Qualifier, simple yet refined I suppose. He won behind some impressive D-backs play but also thanks to the solid night of Zach McAllister and the 6.5 point performance from Jay Bruce. He won by less than 2 points, as a number of players scored in the 65 point range but just fell short. At the end of the day, the 67 points game from Plumber was enough to win.

DailyJoust King’s Crown Qualifier

First place for the DailyJoust King’s Crown Qualifier went to Jaybee254 who just barely edged out Squdgy with a score of 89 to 88. For those of you who have been paying attention to this weekly article, you know that each week the DJ King’s Crown Seat is coming down to a tiny difference between 1st and 2nd. I’m pretty sure the first week came down to a tie, but I gotta do a little fact checking on that. Anyways, Jaybee254 took home the prize thanks to a very solid lineup throughout and no real stack(a few D-backs of course.) Marco Estrada led the way for his pitching staff and CarGo, Cespedes and Jose Reyes accompanied his D-back hitters to carry him to victory. Congrats to Jaybee254 and good luck in the final! At the end of the day, Squdgy was held back by the terrible night of Ryan Dempster who only put up 3 fantasy points. A little more from the potentially future Brave and Squdgy would’ve taken home the W.

FantasyFeud Mayhem Freeroll

The FantasyFeud Mayhem Freeroll came down to a similar story as the other big events this weekend. The Arizona Diamondbacks, Mike Trout and decent pitching. Mike Trout is a name I am still cursing as he eliminated me from both DOCOFS bracket challenges on Friday but ANYWAYS the Mayhem Freeroll victor was a guy who goes by the name of Seashockers. Seashockers hung an impressive 96 points up to take home the first place prize and is now probably feeling pretty good about himself. Seashockers threw Nova, Lohse and Lincecum for huge performances and took down the #1 spot. Props to FantasyFeud for hosting this awesome freeroll as it drew much attention to their awesome new Global Editor tool which is worth checking out.

DOCOFS Bracket Challenge Updates

This one is literally impossible for me to wrap my head around, because I have no idea how to summarize the tons of match-ups that took place from Friday to Sunday. But I will say that you should be looking for in-depth updates in next weeks Big Events Breakdown once the Final Four has gone down(as well as updates on all of the DOCOFS ongoings.)

Check back in next week for much more!
