The sixth week of the NFL season culminates with an AFC East clash. The New York Jets, fresh off a coach being fired, welcome the Buffalo Bills to MetLife Stadium for Monday Night Football. Despite Robert Saleh losing his job and Nathaniel Hackett being stripped of his play-calling duties, the Jets are a mere one-point underdog on Monday night. The Jets would sit atop the AFC East with a win — enough to keep poor Jets fans invested. Let’s break down tonight’s betting odds, injuries, and statistics before making a bet.

Bills vs. Jets Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings Sportsbook offers the Bills as 1-point favorites. ScoresAndOdds reports that 90% of spread bets were placed on Buffalo for Monday night. The game total at 41 points has an overwhelming majority of bets and money resting on the over. The game total has held around 40.5 and 41 points despite the lopsided action. Even with all of the turnover, the Jets only getting a point is remarkable. Something feels fishy.

The Bills injury list is starting to fill up. Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, and James Cook are reportedly in for Monday night. A quick leaf through the news before kickoff feels in order. Khalil Shakir remains questionable. More importantly, Ed Oliver, the defensive tackle, is out. Oliver joins an infirmary filled with Buffalo defenders. Buffalo is tied with the New York Giants with the worst rushing yards per attempt on defense because of injuries in the interior.

C.J. Mosley is questionable for the Jets with his toe injury. Tyler Conklin is questionable. Conklin’s involvement in the offense has increased in the last 2 weeks — with 9 and 8 targets. Will his role be similar if he can play?

We don’t know. Nathaniel Hackett is no longer calling the plays for the Jets. Some would argue he wasn’t running the offense anyway. Todd Downing will now call plays for the Jets. Downing was the OC for the Titans during Mike Vrabel’s tenure.

What do we know about Downing? In his last season as the offensive coordinator, the Titans ranked 26th in points and 29th in yards. This was peak Derrick Henry time. If that is a signal of things to come, Breece Hall and Braelon Allen could be used in bulk on Monday night.

Breece Hall was tabbed for a big breakout season. The last few weeks have been rough as the Jets offense has struggled against better defenses. Hall had 19 carries for 27 yards. Yikes! Against a softer front with Buffalo, the Jets should look to attack through the run.

The Bills seemed to think that the exit of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis would be fine because Josh Allen is an offensive star. Early in the season, that seemed to bear fruit. Unfortunately, injuries and the lack of a true threat outside has subdued Buffalo’s offense. The Bills offense only averaged 4.7 yards per play last weekend.

So, where will the Bills’ production come from? Will James Cook be able to carry a full workload? The Jets defense leads the league in yards per play on defense. To build a same game parlay for Monday night, we will need to unlock which Bill to play or fade.

Let’s build our same game parlay for Monday Night Football.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Bills vs. Jets

Breece Hall Over 59.5 Rushing Yards

I am willing to bet the Jets come out running the football. The new coordinator has a track record of running the rock with a stud running back. The Bills struggle to stop the run. Simple, right?

Let’s hope! As a card-carrying Jets fan, a simple approach would be welcomed. Breece Hall — and now Braelon Allen — were supposed to be the feature pieces of the offense. The Jets are still live for a playoff bid if they can win tonight.

I think Hall sees his biggest workload in weeks on Monday night. Braelon Allen should see his share as well. Breece Hall is our start and could be my ladder play of the night.

Dalton Kincaid Under 40.5 Receiving Yards

The Jets are very stingy to opposing tight ends. On 22 targets to the position, the Jets allowed 128 receiving yards. That number is second-best in the league. Dalton Kincaid is potentially the best option for Josh Allen in the passing game. Against the Jets though, Kincaid might see a depressed role.

Allen’s passing prop is set at 199.5 passing yards. For Allen, that signifies the expectation is the Bills passing offense is going to struggle. For Kincaid to accumulate more than 40 receiving yards, Allen would have to go over.

At home, the Jets defense is likely to be amped up for this game. The change of guard at coach could be just the jolt this team needs. Yes, we can’t project narratives, but we need an angle. I think the Bills struggle.

Breece Hall Anytime Touchdown Scorer

I am going all in on Breece Hall on Monday night. I am normally not a fan of touchdown props, but I truly believe the Jets need to establish their identity in this game. This team needs to win with defense and running the football.

That message will be sent loudly and clearly if Hall rushes for 100 yards and a touchdown. This might not make for the best odds, but I think it is pretty correlated.

Let’s go, Jets!
