Week 5 of the NFL season begins on Thursday night in the nation’s capital with a matchup between the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders. The Bears enter play still looking for their first win of the season. The Commanders are looking to get back over the .500 mark after back-to-back losses.

Ahead of kickoff, the Commanders are favored by 6 points on the spread. The game total is set at over/under 44.5 points. If choosing to wager instead on the player prop market, we have three prop leans for tonight’s matchup!

Commanders vs. Bears Player Props for TNF

D.J. Moore o49.5 Receiving Yards (-110), FanDuel

D.J. Moore has two games of at least 100 receiving yards through the first four weeks of the season and is tied with the team lead in targets entering play in Week 5. The player with whom he is tied is tight end Cole Kmet, who has an extremely difficult matchup this evening against a Washington defense that has completely neutralized opposing tight ends so far in 2023. Moore should be the primary beneficiary if the Commanders can contain Kmet. Moore is one of the league’s most dynamic weapons after the catch, making him a worthwhile investment if betting on NFL football tonight.

Jahan Dotson o40.5 Receiving Yards (-110), PointsBet

Jahan Dotson has yet to eclipse this market number so far this fall, but there is a reason that this line is where it is ahead of kickoff on Thursday. The Chicago secondary unit has already ruled out their top two coverage players – safety Eddie Jackson and cornerback Jaylon Johnson. Dotson is still one of the best route-runners in the NFL and received nine targets in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The production hasn’t been there yet, but Dotson is tied for second on the team in targets and could not ask for a more favorable matchup to get on the right track. Do not be surprised if he has a massive game this evening.

NFL DFS Pick’em

Cole Kmet Less Than 32.5 Receiving Yards, PrizePicks

Through four games, Washington’s defense has completely eliminated opposing tight ends. This unit allowed only 21 receiving yards to Zach Ertz in the season opener, zero receiving yards to Denver Broncos’ tight ends in Week 2, 14 total receiving yards to Buffalo’s combination of Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid in Week 3, and only 25 receiving yards to Dallas Goedert in Week 4. Cole Kmet has gone over this market number three times in four games to begin 2023, but he is unlikely to sustain that positive momentum in today’s Thursday Night Football affair.
