EARLY SLATE QUICK HITS

Happy Saturday, Grinders! We have been greeted with a Saturday slate that is, well, a mess. There are five games that start at some point during the afternoon, but they all start at different times. DraftKings has split off the first three games as their “early” slate with the last two as a “turbo” slate. FanDuel has split off the first two games as a “very early” slate with the last three as the “early” slate. FantasyDraft doesn’t even have any afternoon contests. Since there isn’t a slate in the bunch with 4+ games, I suppose I could just ignore the afternoon games entirely… but I’ve never done that on a Saturday before. However, it’s a pain to try and break down because the primary early slates feature completely different games on both FD/DK.

I’ve settled on firing off some quick notes on all five of the early games, and you can adapt them to the site/slate on which you are playing.

COL @ NYY
1 – Masahiro Tanaka benefits from a matchup against a team that is much weaker on the road, ranking near the bottom of most statistical categories.
2 – Tanaka is prone to the HR ball, so you could look to a one-off COL power bat.
3 – The Yankees should smash against Senzatela, who has allowed 15 ER over his last two starts.
4 – There are no weaknesses in the NYY lineup, as eight potential starters have ISO marks above .200 against RHP.
5 – Judge and Encarnacion are my favorite plays, with Gregorius being an intriguing point per dollar option.
