Primetime Parlay: Cowboys vs. 49ers Same Game Parlay Picks
Last year, ScoresAndOdds’ ParlayIQ tool helped us create a variety of fun same-game parlay tickets throughout the NFL season. Through simulations, the tool examines the potential value various betting lines offer on sports betting sites. Along with the simulations, we will examine stats, roster news, trends, player props, and betting odds across sports betting sites to find the best price for our same game parlay ticket. For this article, we build a same-game parlay for the Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
For the first time in what feels like quite some time, the NFL delivers a marquee matchup during a primetime slot. The San Francisco 49ers welcome the Dallas Cowboys. Both are considered formidable playoff teams; both defenses are regarded as the best in the NFL. Unsurprisingly, the 49ers are favored at home… but not by much. Will the Cowboys be able to bottle up the versatile San Francisco offense? Will the 49ers force Dak into mistakes? Let’s dig into betting odds, injuries, and stats before building a same-game parlay ticket on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Cowboys vs. 49ers Same Game Parlay
FanDuel Sportsbook posts the 49ers as 3.5-point favorites at the time of this writing. The implied game total is 45 points in what should be an exciting matchup between two high-powered offenses.
The public and sharps favor the 49ers with about 60% of wagers and money on the 49ers’ side of the spread this week. As for the total, 72% of the betting handle throughout the week is on the under with bets likely favoring the strength of the two defenses.
For the 49ers, Deebo Samuel will play along with fellow receiver Jauan Jennings. Elijah Mitchell is out this week, which means Christian McCaffrey will continue to see all of the work he can handle. McCaffrey might be on the field for nearly the entire game on Sunday night.
For the Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb is in while Peyton Hendershot won’t suit up. Jake Ferguson will continue to be the feature tight end. More importantly, Tyron Smith is finally back, and the Cowboys will play with their starting offensive line for the first time this season. Will Dak finally have time, or will the 49ers disrupt the Dallas offense?
Speaking of defenses, Micah Parsons and the Cowboys’ pass rush has been out of control this season — leading the league in sack rate. While the 49ers’ offense is elite, there is no doubt that they will have their hands full all night trying to protect Brock Purdy. Purdy continues to be a winner in this offense but will need to work hard to play clean football against a wildly disruptive defense that continues to force turnovers.
Both defenses rank in the top ten with regard to yards per play, while the Dallas defense is allowing a surprising 4.6 yards per rush attempt. Will the 49ers lean on Christian McCaffrey throughout the game? ParlayIQ prefers the under on CMC’s rushing prop. We will get back to McCaffrey in a bit.
While we have grown accustomed to watching less-than-stellar matchups in primetime, this game should be a doozy early in the season. Regardless, we are going to construct a same-game parlay ticket for funsies to watch along on Sunday night. Can we book our first win? We have been so close of late. Let’s get started.
Same Game Parlay Picks for SNF
- McCaffrey Over 32.5 Receiving Yards
- Ferguson Over 28.5 Receiving Yards
- Lamb Over 69.5 Receiving Yards
Christian McCaffrey Over 32.5 Receiving Yards
So the Cowboys’ defense is softer against the running game. Personally, I think McCaffrey will get all he can handle against Dallas tonight — especially if San Francisco is ahead of the chains. McCaffrey is giving running back-truthers hope this year — vying for an MVP that he is priced the same for as his own quarterback. While the outcome of the MVP race will not be kind to CMC, he is on pace for an illustrious season on a great football team.
I think his receiving prop is in play even though Dallas doesn’t bleed much out of the backfield to backs. With all due respect to some of the running backs that have squared off with Dallas, none of them pose the same receiving threat that McCaffrey does each down. I think McCaffrey comfortably exceeds this number in a spot where the game could be close. ParlayIQ agrees, rating this prop as the highest that is eligible for an SGP on FanDuel.
Jake Ferguson Over 28.5 Receiving Yards
Similarly, Jake Ferguson and his receiving over are highly rated for tonight’s game. The heir to Dalton Schultz has been on fire over the last couple of weeks and saw 7 targets three times in the first four weeks of the season.
While the 49ers are stingy on defense, the presence of Tyron Smith and a fully healthy offensive line should give Dak a bit more time to work. If the Cowboys fall behind, even Mike McCarthy will need to call passing plays. Ferguson and his offensive brethren can be in for a busy night.
CeeDee Lamb Over 69.5 Receiving Yards
Finally, a man I bank on frequently, CeeDee Lamb closes our SGP ticket. Again, the Cowboys should be at full strength tonight on offense for the first time. While the opposing defense is elite, the Cowboys are a dynamic offense with Lamb as the feature piece.
Dak will get the ball to his main man in a variety of ways. If the Cowboys fall behind, like Ferguson, CeeDee will be called upon frequently. Lamb hasn’t exploded yet this season but is still putting together strong performances. He is due for a breakout game. The bright lights of Sunday night could be just the elixir for Lamb.
ParlayIQ featured this in 51% of simulations featuring our other two legs. While this isn’t normally a leg I would target, I will go with my gut for this one.
