Daily Fantasy NFL: H2H vs. GPP Plays - Week 13

Hatorade breaks down some of the best conservative plays for head to head action and 50/50s, then discusses which players you should be targeting with high risk/reward factors for tournaments this weekend.

Head to Head and 50/50 Game Plays: NFL Week 12

Quarterbacks

nick-foles-300x200

Nick Foles – Prior to last week’s game vs. woeful Matt Flynn and the Packers, the Lions had given up 16 TD’s to opposing quarterbacks in their last 6 games. Foles is producing at a top rate and should get plenty of attempts in the game with the highest o/u of the week.

Josh McCownJay Cutler has been ruled out for MNF opening the door for McCown to continue to roll with a great matchup vs. Dallas this week. He should have his 3rd straight 300 plus yards and 2 plus TD performance and he has a great price on most sites.

Running Backs

Demarco Murray – He is going to probably be the highest owned RB this week, but for good reason. He gets the Swiss cheese Bears D that has been fantasy gold to opposing RB’s this year. They won’t be able to stack the box like last week vs. Peterson and he still had a ton of yards.

Matt Forte – Forte gets the Cowboys on MNF that are giving up the most points to the RB position this year and who are still without Sean Lee. He has been really consistent although he only has 1 multi TD game this year. I think it will be 2 after this week.

Calvin Johnson – The best WR in the game gets the Eagles this week who give up the most points to the WR position. Megatron is set up for a monster game in what vegas projects to be a close high scoring game.

Torrey Smith – Smith gets the porous Vikings secondary this week and I think it will be his best week of the year. He should have double digit targets and against the Vikings, that should translate to a bunch of fantasy points.

Alshon Jeffery – Coming off last week’s monster performance vs. the Vikings he gets another great matchup vs. the Cowboys this week. Dallas will struggle to contain Alshon & Brandon Marshall.

Tight Ends

Rob Gronkowski – I’m going back to the well here, but Gronk gets a great match-up vs. the Browns who have given up 4 TD’s to the TE position over the last 3 weeks.

Greg Olsen – He doesn’t have a great a match-up vs. the Saints, but he has been one of the most consistent TE’s this year and the Panthers might need to try to keep pace with the Saints in the dome.

DST

Bengals – The Bengals have been one of the most consistent D’s this year and get a Colts team that has struggled offensively in their last 2 games against teams other than the Titans.

Chiefs – The Chiefs have struggled a little recently, but they’ve played Manning and Co. twice in their last three games. They get a Redskins team this week that may have given up on their season.

Alex Smith – Smith has put up 3 nice weeks in row as the Chiefs have opened up the offense a little bit and given him more opportunities. He gets the Redskins who have yielded multiple TD’s to QB’s in 7 of their 12 games.

Jason Campbell – He faces the Patriots this week, which isn’t the best match-up for him, but he is going to get to throw the ball a ton in this game. He had a combined 127 attempts in his three games weeks 8-11 and should get lots of garbage time points in a game where the Browns are double digit underdogs.

Running Backs

Montee Ball – The Broncos will continue to limit Moreno’s touches as we get closer to the playoffs and he is still banged up. That should translate to another nice workload for Ball vs. a Tennessee D that struggles vs. the run.

Steven Jackson – Old man Jackson has two weeks in a row that he has scored a TD and gets a nice matchup vs. Green Bay. The pack have been pretty bad vs. the run this year and have given up more than 200 yards to RB’s in their last 2 games.

DeSean Jackson – DJax is the ultimate boom or bust player and he gets the Lions this week, who are at the bottom of the league vs. WR’s. This game should produce fireworks and should have plenty of fantasy points to go around. I think he goes boom.

Brandon Marshall – I like Marshall more this week as a GPP play because people are more likely to play Alshon and Marshall has only gone without a TD for more than 1 game once this year and could be the Chicago wideout with the monster day this week.

Kendall Wright – The Titans will probably be behind and in catch-up mode for a lot of this game, so Wright should be a busy man on Sunday trying to keep his team in the ball game. He had his best game of the year 2 weeks ago and I think he may top it this week.

h3 Tight Ends

Jared Cook – Remember back in Week 1 when Cook went off on the Cardinals for 7 catches for 141 yards and 2 scores? That sure seems like a long time ago for Cook, but a 2nd shot against Cardinals and their league worst TE defense should lead to a productive week for Cook.

Zach Ertz – Foles likes to go to his TE’s in the red zone, so although he doesn’t usually get many targets he can really make the most of them. I think it’s Ertz #1 Gold Club Rewards this week vs. the Lions.

D/ST

Raiders – The Raiders aren’t a very good defensive team, but it hasn’t really mattered vs. the Jets this year.

Cardinals – They have put up double digit point totals in 4 of their last 5 home games.
