Daily Fantasy NFL: H2H vs. GPP (Week 7)
Part 1 – 50/50’s/Double-ups and Head-to-Head
When playing 50-50’s/Double-ups or head-to-head, you want guaranteed points. This is not where you roll the dice on all-or-nothing players. The idea is to simply produce a solid, well balanced team. It may not be explosive, but it doesn’t matter whether you finish in first place or not, you just need to cash.
Quarterback

Jay Cutler – Cutler is having a very consistent season. He has at least 242 yards and 2 TDs in 5/6 games. The Red Skins are allowing over 20 FPPG to the QB and have the 24th ranked pass defense.
Nick Foles – I think Foles keeps the job even when Vick returns. The cowboys have the 30th ranked passing defense and allow 24.4 FPPG to the QB. Foles has many weapons in this offense, which should mean a big week.
Running Back
Matt Forte – Forte has over 90 yards from scrimmage in every game this season. Washington allows the 3rd most FPPG to the RB with 24.
Alfred Morris – Look what Brandon Jacobs did to the Bears, Morris may go off for 150 yards and 2 TDs. Chicago is giving up 21.1 FPPG to the RB.
Wide Receiver

Wes Welker – Welker is averaging over 8 targets per game while leading WRs in TDs with 8 and red zone targets with 13.
Brandon Marshall – “Jay Cutler(player-profile)”:/players/Jay_Cutler-11606’s go to guy. Brandon Marshall is 9th overall in targets this season and had 10 last week with 3 coming in the red zone. He is guaranteed points.
Pierre Garcon – The Bears defense is not what it used to be. Garcon continues to be RG III favorite target. Garcon leads all WRs with 11.8 targets per game.
Tight End
Tony Gonzalez – He will be the go to guy all game for Matty Ice and TB is allowing 12 FPPG to the TE ranking 22nd.
Antonio Gates – Despite the poor showing Monday night, Gates is still averaging 77.7 YPG and just under 8 targets per game. Jacksonville is ranked 26th VS the TE allowing 13.5 FPPG.
Kicker
Matt Prater – Guaranteed points.
Caleb Sturgis – Sturgis is 10-11 on field goals this year, including three from 50+ yards.
Defenses
Kansas City Chiefs – With a back up QB starting this week, the Chiefs should dominant the Texans with their defense. Per Pro Football Focus the Chiefs are ranked #1 in both pass rush and pass coverage.
San Francisco 49ers – Per PFF the 49ers are ranked 5th in pass rush and #2 in pass coverage. Fitzpatrick and the Titans will be no match for this unit.
Part 2 – GPP’s
GPP’s are a completely different story. You need guys to have huge days. GPP’s are all about upside. Value players are just as important as your studs in this game type.
Quarterback

Eli Manning – I know, here we are again. But Minnesota is ranked 28th VS the QB allowing 22 FPPG and Eli still has plenty of Weapons. I think he makes a great GPP play.
Chad Henne – Henne was not very good last week in Denver and still threw for 303 yards. The Chargers have actually been much better defensively of late, but are still ranked 30th in fantasy defense VS the QB allowing 22.7 FPPG.
Josh Freeman – This is a long shot, but he has had success before in this league. Freeman has a very strong arm and the NYG are 31st VS the QB allowing 23.6 FPPG.
Running Back
Brandon Jacobs – “Don’t call it a come back, I’ve been here for years” Jacobs went old school on the Bears last week. Now he faces a brutally bad defense. The Vikings rank dead last VS the RB allowing 27.5 FPPG.
Ryan Mathews – Ryan has 100+ YFS in 2 of his last 3 games. The Jags are the 28th ranked fantasy defense VS the RB allowing 23.4 FPPG.
Joseph Randle – Randle could be GPP gold this week. He is extremely cheap and should get a ton of touches. The Eagles are allowing 18.6 FPPG to the RB.
Wide Receiver

Justin Blackmon – As usual I expect the Jags to be losing and throwing. The Chargers are ranked 27th in FPPG against the WR and dead last according to Pro Football Focus in pass coverage. Blackmon had 20 targets last week, with 4 coming in the red zone.
Keenan Allen – Allen seems to have become Rivers go to guy. He was targeted 12 times last week and now has 20 receptions, 302 yards and 2 TDs in his last 3 games. I doubt the Jags slow him down.
Rueben Randle – This game should see a lot of scoring. Randle is the 4th ranked WR over the last 2 weeks and the Vikings are giving up over 300 passing yards per game.
Tight End
Jermichael Finley – With all the injuries I think Finley will see a lot of targets and has huge upside this week. He makes a great value play.
Jordan Reed – Despite only having 4 catches for 58 yards in week 7, scouts are raving about this kid comparing him to Aaron Hernandez (Minus the murder). He could have a break out game this week.
Kicker
Steven Hauschka – (Editor’s note: Written prior to TNF Game) Hauschka is 14-15 on field goals including six from 40+ yards.
Dan Bailey – The Cowboys will put up points and he has a big leg
Defense
Carolina Panthers – The Panthers are ranked #3 overall in defense. The Rams have trouble running the ball and Carolina is the #1 ranked defense VS the QB.
Miami Dolphins – The Bill are banged up and per PFF the Dolphins have the # 4 ranked pass rush in football. Pressure on an inexperienced QB could result in turnovers.
Good luck Grinders!
