DraftKings Launches 'Pick6' Fantasy Game, Joins PrizePicks & Underdog In Pick'em Streets

In yet another shot across the bow of Underdog, PrizePicks, and other daily fantasy pick‘em sites, DraftKings has launched Pick6, a standalone peer-to-peer daily fantasy product.

As first reported in the Sports Business Journal, the game will allow users to pick between two and six NFL or NBA player props from at least two games. Those picks would be entered into pools at different price points, much like traditional DFS. People would win (or lose) based on where they finish in the standings.

The app, according to SBJ, is live now in six states: Maryland, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin, and is expected to roll out in other states where DraftKings has a DFS presence.

Last week, DraftKings announced the introduction of Progressive Parlays for its sports betting app, which mimics Underdog and PrizePicks pick ‘em contests as well.

“There’s a real consciousness on our part around which product is a sports betting product and which product is a fantasy product, where they will live in our product ecosystem, and what states they’ll be allowed in based on what category they qualify as,” Corey Gottlieb, DraftKings chief product officer, told SPJ. “And our decision to launch them in tandem is a very explicit one. There are two different mechanics in-market that we think will be attractive to customers and really engaging for our users. But one is a sportsbook product and the other is a fantasy product. And we’re going to launch them as such.”
