IMPORTANT: League of Legends content and tools will be moving to a stand-alone premium status soon. Be sure to give everything we offer a test drive today and then sign up for the tools and information we’ll provide this coming weekend, when some additional LOL leagues will return to action. Just a reminder: Your Core Premium package is not being billed for now, and LOL prize pools are increasing by the day. We look forward to seeing you on Team LOL Premium soon!

Projected Starting Lineup – Team WE

Matchup Breakdown:

This is the closest matchup projected on this slate, but overall, I think this slate is going to be pretty chalky. I do think this game has the best chance of going all three games. The problem with both of these teams, they’re both passive teams, and don’t usually play aggressive. Dominus beat down on LGD last Tuesday but got rolled over by FPX in their last matchup. They’ve struggled and rank in the bottom five in both kills per game and gold differential per minute this season. Gala, Natural, and Xiaowei all had big games in the win against LGD. Xiye has been the normal starter at mid for Dominus, but if Xiaowei draws the start, I have a little more interest. If I’m stacking this team, Gala and Natural would be my main two targets and have the most upside in a Dominus win.

Team WE is a team we’ve seen four times in the last eight days. They handled both VG and V5, but they were crushed by FPX and RNG. I watched that whole matchup against FPX, and while they had some bright spots, they were just overmatched. I do however think they’re the better team in this game. As far as overall stats, both of these teams are pretty equal across the board. I like to think we can be different with some stacks while using Team WE in this matchup. Morgan didn’t have monster games in the two wins, so we could potentially do a Jiumeng, beishang, and Missing type of stack. If you’re stacking Team WE, I do like Missing, who has put up some really strong games in their wins this season. Looking into the stats, I think beishang is a better player than Xiaopeng, and could take advantage of this matchup.

Update: Teacherma is starting over Plex. Teacherma played with the WE Academy team in 2019. In 31 games, he had a 3.15 KDA. He played in some games during the 2019 Demacia Cup with WE. He had a 3.7 KDA with a 17.8% damage rate. If you’re stacking this team, he’s not much cheaper than Plex and his upside might be a little lower than some other MID players on this slate. I don’t hate the idea of playing him on some stacks.

Invictus Gaming (4-0) vs. LGD Gaming (1-3)

Matchup Breakdown:

Invictus Gaming is the only undefeated team in the league, and they seem to be one of the most aggressive teams in the league as well. LGD is also very aggressive but seems to be outmatched in this one. Invictus has a big advantage in the top lane of this matchup, and I’d be shocked to see them lose a game in this bo3. We have two of the best players in the league on this slate with Puff and Doinb. Puff leads the league in kills per game, and he’s second in average damage per game. My biggest worry with Puff is he hasn’t had massive games in matchups were they blowout the opponents. I’m not saying to fade him by any means, I’m just saying he’s really expensive and his upside might be a little limited if this game ends 2-0 with IG dominating. I like the advantage for TheShy in the top lane here, and I like how Ning has been playing since the return of the LPL Season. This is a top team to target on this slate, and like I said above, I’d be shocked if they don’t 2-0 this game.

Update: Leyan is starting over Ning. Stats wise these two players seem close to each other. Leyan has a 4.3 KDA which is much higher than the 3.1 KDA that Ning has. He also averages more damage and gold per game. Outside of worrying about them subbing, I think Leyan is just as strong of play as Ning. Leyan was the starter before the hiatus, and was the starter for them in the World Championship in 2019.

As you can tell from my breakdown above, I’m not really on LGD in this game. With that said, they’re likely going to be the lowest owned team on this slate. They’re coming off an upset win against Top Esports and will look to carry that momentum into this matchup. I honestly wish they were playing someone else because they looked strong in that game. Peanut, Kramer, and Yuuki had monster games in that win, and if you’re wanting to hedge or play the contrarian route in tournaments, those would be the three players I would target. It’s not something I’d do if I was playing only one team, but if I was playing a lot of teams in that $10 large-field tournament, this could easily be the difference maker if they pull a major upset win.

Suning (2-2) vs. FunPlus Phoenix (3-2)

Projected Starting Lineup – Suning

Projected Starting Lineup – FunPlus Phoenix

Matchup Breakdown:

I’m really excited for this game, and I think this will be the bloodiest game on this slate. Both Suning and FunPlus Phoenix rank in the top five in kills per game. I know FPX is a big favorite (-833), but if Suning upsets them, I wouldn’t be totally shocked. Suning loss against RW was before the break, but they’ve been playing great since the LPL started back up. They added huanfeng to the team over the hiatus, and he’s been an absolute beast since joining the starting lineup. He has a few less games because he didn’t play the start of the season, but he leads the league in damage per minute, and has a 36.4% damage rate. If they can pull the upset, huanfeng, Angel, and SofM will have big games. As bloody as this game will be, if I’m being contrarian with this stack, I would go ahead and make it a four-player stack.

I watched the whole matchup with FPX and WE the other day, and FPX looked like a well-oiled machine. Since returning from the break, they’ve gone 6-1 in the three games they’ve played. Doinb stats wise seems to be one of the top mid players in the league. Like I said above, Angel has been playing well, so this should be a fun matchup to watch. FPX has the overall team advantage in farming, which is why I think they’re such heavy favorites in this game. Well and they’re the defending World Champions. Like I said above, I think this game is going to be bloody and we’re going to see a lot of fantasy points scored by the winning team. I’ll have stacks of both of these teams (not together). Doinb, Lwx, and Tian would be my main three targets here. Since rejoining the starting lineup GimGoon hasn’t shown a ton of upside, which makes me a little down on him for my team stacks. Crisp is one of the best support players in the LPL, and he’s averaging 28 assist per game, which makes him a little more appealing to me than GimGoon. With all that said, GimGoon is still one of the better plays at Top on this slate, and if you’re doing a two Top lineup, he’s very much in play.
