DraftKings League of Legends DFS Overview: Wednesday, March 18th
It’s a three-game slate on tap LATE this evening (or early tomorrow depending on your perspective) for League of Legends LPL action on DraftKings. The slate beings at 2 AM eastern time, but will reward your insomnia with a huge (by LoL standards) $60K guaranteed GPP and loads of other action.
While it’s nothing compared to what we’re used to, it feels great to be covering a DFS slate and we’re ready to give you the information you need to kickstart your lineup building process.

Victory Five (0-4) vs. LNG Esports (2-2)

Projected Starting Lineup – LNG Esports

Matchup Breakdown:
It’s been a rough start to the season for Victory Five, as they’ve had some roster changes because of the Coronavirus. Also, towards the end of February, clx moved from mid to support. Victory Five has lost all eight games in their four matches this season, and they’re the second-biggest underdog on this three-game slate. They’ve had a tough schedule so far, facing two of the top three teams in the league this season. The problem is, they have the lowest kill to death ratio, and they’re just a mess right now. I don’t see a lot of upside to this stack, but they should be really low owned if you do end up rolling the dice with them. I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you are stacking them, I would stack them as a secondary stack with y4, Mole, and team V5.
Li-Ning Gaming is the second-biggest favorite on this slate and is certainly a team we’re looking to target on this slate. My biggest concern with LNG, they’ve played close games in three of four games this season. We want our teams to win, but we want them to win 2-0 instead of 2-1. I don’t think Asura has as much upside as Loken in the captain spot, but I think the combo of those two should be something you’re looking for in cash games. Maple has also been one of the most consistent players this season and should be considered in play for all formats. I’m no expert but I’ve spent a lot of time reviewing profitable and optimal lineups, they almost always have an ADC or MID in the captain spot. I like the four-man stack from LNG to be different from the 4-game JDG stack. The main targets for me are Asura, Maple, Flandre, but I really don’t mind playing anyone from this team.
UPDATE: Light is starting for Asura. This will be the first start and gameplay for Light with the Pro LNG squad. He played with the LNG Academy team for the LDL 2019 Summer League. He averaged 3.13 kills per game, and had a 3.73 KDA, which was 24th best for ADCs. LNG must really like this matchup to make this move, plus as I said above, Victory Five isn’t good at all.
Top Esports (2-2) vs. Vici Gaming (1-4)
Projected Starting Lineup – Top Esports

Projected Starting Lineup – Vici Gaming
Projected Inactive: Uzi, Zdz
Matchup Breakdown:
This is probably the closest matchup we have on this slate. The problem with this matchup, both Top Esports and Vici Gaming rank in the bottom five in kills per game. Top Esports is a -250 favorite, but I don’t know if I agree with that line. I’m not an expert but I’d be taking Vici Gaming ML on this one. Photic has one of the worst average kills per game for an ADC, but Knight has a 30.1% damage rate, which is the 10th-highest in the league. If I was stacking this team, Knight and Karsa would be my main targets, and I think they have the most upside if they win this game.
I feel like both of these teams are secondary stacks. With that said, I do like what you’re able to build with the Vici Gaming secondary stack. They have played two of the top three teams so far, and actually had a shot to beat JD Gaming. I think this team is better than their record, and I’m going to roll the dice on this slate. My problem, like I said above, both of these teams lack upside because of the kills per game. When targeting them, I’ll be looking at Cube and Zeka. They did a lot of the damage against JD Gaming, and if Vici Gaming wins this game, it’s likely those two with the big upside games. Maestro also returned last game, and he has an appealing price tag.
JD Gaming (4-1) vs. Bilibili Gaming (2-3)
Projected Starting Lineup – JD Gaming
Projected Inactive: Zoom
Projected Starting Lineup – Bilibili Gaming
Projected Inactive: N/A
Matchup Breakdown:
I think JD Gaming is the top target on this slate. They have the fifth-highest kills per game and the best kill to death ratio in the league. LokeN is an absolute beast and probably has the most upside on this slate. He has the second-best KDA (kills/deaths/assists ratio) in the league this season, and the only person higher than him is Zoom, who is inactive because of the Coronavirus. LvMao seems to be one of the best support players for DFS, and he’s yet to have a game under 20 assists this season. He’s one of the safer options, but honestly, this whole team is in play on this slate. I think Loken will be the highest owned captain on this slate, but I will also be mixing in some Kanavi and Yagao at captain as well.
Bilibili is the biggest underdog (+300) on this slate. They have the third-lowest kills per game, and I really think it would be a big upset from them to win this game. If you want to roll the dice on this stack, I think it’s clear who to attack. FoFo and Jinjiao are the two upside plays on this team. They both have damage rates over 28% and seem to be the two usage-type of players. If I were to play Bilibili Gaming here, I would at least three-person stack them. They should be low owned, and if they win, a couple of these players are going to have big games. With that said, I do think this could turn into a lopsided win for JD Gaming.
Update: ADD is starting for Kingen. With this move, BG is starting four of the five players that played in Summer 2019 together. Kingen has a 2.4 KDA on the season with a 24% damage rate. In 2019 Summer League, ADD had a 2.7 KDA with a 24.5% damage rate. Playing together before certainly helps ADD jump back into the starting lineup, but I still think this is the toughest matchup on the slate. If you’re rolling out a contrarian stack, ADD is cheap enough to make your main stack look really good. I still favorite JDG in this matchup.
