EHafner's Lineup Walkthrough: NFL Week 11

Column Description: Each week EHafner will be breaking down the players he used for his actual lineup (for NFL Thursdays). In addition he’ll be breaking down other picks he considered using that week. This will allow you to follow along with his picks as Sunday’s games unfold, and get in the mind of one of Daily Fantasy’s best! He’ll be rotating the site and game-type each week in his column in order to cover both Head-to-Heads and GPPs across all of the major sites! Here are EHafner’s picks for this week on FanDuel Head-to-Heads, let him know you’re rooting along with him in the comments below!

Starting QB

Russell Wilson – I have a ton of Russell Wilson this week. I would’ve went even heavier with him if it weren’t for Seattle’s recent offensive line woes. The matchup is great against the one of the worst teams in the league, they have the best home field advantage in pro sports, and Wilson gets a stud playmaker in Percy Harvin back this week.

Other QB plays

Josh McCown – At $5400, I’ve been willing to take QBs like Brandon Weeden because it’s so easy to make value at this price for a QB. Getting Josh McCown at this price was surprising because he’s been pretty good this year. The Ravens have some dynamic pass rushers that might scare people off McCown, but McCown has too many great weapons to miss value this week.

Starting RB’s

Jamaal Charles – I usually like to take RB’s that are favorites but with Jamaal it doesn’t matter. He’ll get his touches no matter what the score is. As a Chiefs fan I’m hoping they beat the Broncos twice and Jamaal gets some MVP talk.

Andre Brown – Looks like the DFS community got trolled by Tom Coughlin last week. Andre was reportedly supposed to be “eased in”, and then he got 30 carries. The Giants are matched up against the Packers with a 3rd string QB, I believe Brown will be given a similar workload this week.

Other RB plays

Lesean McCoy – Here’s an elite talent at home with an elite matchup. The Eagles offense is hot again and McCoy should cut up this Redskins defense which ranks near the bottom in just about every defensive category.

Starting WRs

Kendall Wright – My sole Thursday night play, Kendall Wright was a cheap source of targets. He gave me what I expected with 9 catches for 80 yards.

Vincent Jackson – Most people probably look at Vincent Jackson as a GPP play but I don’t think of him that way. I believe he’ll bust out of his slump this week against a bad Falcons secondary. In their previous matchup Jackson went off for 10/138 and 2 TDs.

Alshon Jeffery – I think Cutler being out is actually a plus for Jeffery. I remember getting burned earlier in the year taking Jeffery against the Giants, then watching Cutler look to no one but Brandon Marshall. I expect McCown to be more even with his looks and Jeffery has the talent to burn any defense.

Other WR plays

Calvin Johnson – Calvin’s averaging more than 100 yards and a TD per game. I’d say it’s pretty safe to call him the consensus #1 WR. His price is steep but I liked enough of the value guys to get him in this week.

Golden Tate – Tate made some sick catches last week. Russell and Tate are both young players who should continue to develop and Tate is cheap with a good matchup. I like the upside here.

Starting TE

Antonio Gates – The stats on the Dolphins say they’re strong against WRs but weak against TE’s. I listen to Miami radio and they talk up their top corner Brent Grimes and pass rusher Cameron Wake quite a bit. It makes sense that the TE would be getting the production against this defense.

Other TE plays

Jordan Reed – Reed still seems to be underpriced on FanDuel. RG3 looks to him and Garcon consistently and this one projects to be a shootout.

Kicker

Matt Prater – Best offense in the game and he gets to kick in mile high elevation.

Starting DEF

Seattle Seahawks – With the pricing on FanDuel I usually like to pay up for an elite defense. Seattle at home is always good but when they play an offense led by Christian Ponder they’re elite.

Other DEF plays

Houston Texans – This is a pick against Matt McGloin more than it is for the Texans D.
