Finding Paydirt: Week 2 Results
After a high scoring slate in the NFL’s opening week, the league settled in for Week 2. Touchdowns were a little tougher to come by — unless you are Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes. Today, we recap the slate and update our leaderboard. Believe it or not, we are halfway through the first month. Our first leader was established with plenty of members within striking distance. I will start with an updated leaderboard and then transition to my takeaways after Week 2.

After Week 2, the leaderboard is topped by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. Markymark13 sits in solo first with seven total touchdowns while various contestants are tied for second with six. Home Run Derby champion shanekern03 is at it again — collecting three touchdowns this past week and moving up into the aforementioned second-place tie. With such a congested leaderboard, every week will be pivotal in determining who will leave with the RotoGrinders T-shirt for this month.
If you are reading this and have not participated, look out for my Friday article where picks are made for Week 3. You can play along by making your touchdown picks in the comments. Spread the word and share the contest. So, as we await Friday, here are a few of my takeaways after Week 3.
Week 3 Takeaways
May I vent about the Jets? Well, I pen this article, so here we go… How is it possible for this season’s script to play out like this? I mean. What could be more Jetsy than Sam Darnold missing a quarter of the season with the kissing disease only to have his backup removed early in the following game? I do not think in my entire 35-year life I have ever cared so little about a Week 2 Jets game. Imagine how little I am going to care about Week 3.
So Jalen Ramsey wants to request a trade because he is fed up with Doug Marrone. I mean. I would be fed up with my coach after that dreadful play call to end the game but what is really becoming of this league? Will it now be the standard for players to basically wiggle their way out of contracts by acting irrationally? Also, DO WE WANT THE PATRIOTS TO WIN ANOTHER SUPERBOWL?
The Dolphins are really, really bad… I don’t think I need to expound upon that.
I think Survivor Pool contests are going to stay pretty clustered for awhile. With the shortlist of teams to pick on this season, contestants are probably going to be able to move on each week by avoiding any close games. When will the first big upset rock Survivor Pools? Leave your first big upset in the comments. Could the Dolphins upset the Cowboys this weekend?
Thanks for reading. Come back each Friday and Tuesday to play along with everyone and get your fill of my weekly takeaways.
