Finding Paydirt: Week 4 Results
The final week of our first contest came and went with minimal fanfare. The contestant total was down this week — typical for a closing week — and the bye week certainly cut down on the touchdown total. Nick Chubb highlighted a lower scoring week with three touchdowns against the Ravens’ defense. Kenny Golladay grabbed two touchdowns against the Chiefs to the delight of yours truly. Did BroLantis hang on to his hefty lead? Check out the leaderboard below and my Week 4 takeaways. Let’s give away a T-shirt.

BroLantis was apparently very confident in his three-touchdown lead. So confident that he did not even make any elections this week. Fortunately for the Bro, none of the second-place contestants were able to surmount his lead. Bdub02 was able to find one touchdown but his ten touchdowns fell short. So, BroLantis needed three weeks to win a RotoGrinders T-shirt. Congratulations! Please find me via DM so I can work out the details.
MZA and Gillik9486 joined me with three touchdowns in Week 4 on the backs of Kenny Golladay and Will Dissly. Dissly was extremely popular in our contest as well as DFS contests but paid off with a touchdown versus the hapless Cardinals. We were not able to take the top spot in September but our three touchdowns will still carry over for the seasonal contest. Thanks to everyone who participated in the first quarter of the season. I look forward to the next month as we stockpile scores in hopes to win the seasonal prize. Now, for some takeaways.
Week 4 Takeaways
My game theory fade of all Dolphins’ opponents bit me this weekend when I selected the Rams in my Survivor Pool. I was extremely disappointed when I found out the Chargers and Rams essentially split ownership in the huge pool I was in. Had I expected that I would have been content to roll with the Chargers. There’s always next year.
The Cinncinatti Bengals make me feel less bad about being a Jets fan. Finishing this week’s Monday Night Football game with all of the Boogerisms should have been rewarded with some form of watching prize. Booger was quoted as saying “I like the Bengals’ offense,” after watching them fall all over themselves for 3.5 quarters. What a disaster.
I know the Bills’ pass defense is really good, but wow…next level GOAT performance from Tom Brady this past Sunday. Brady went 18/39 with a pick and no touchdowns. Of course, everyone has a bad game, but can we please stop with the Brady love for one week? Turn on a Chiefs game and watch Patrick Mahomes for just a second. Well, any game but last year’s AFC Championship game. That won’t fit my narrative.
Thanks for reading. Come back each Friday and Tuesday to play along with the community and react to my weekly takeaways.
