Friday, March 26th - FanDuel Single Game Analysis: CLE @ LAL
Is your main slate NBA DFS lineup looking rough? Or did you not get off work in time to make one? Or just looking for a little more action? Don’t worry, FanDuel has you covered with their Single Game format. Monday night’s marquee game is CLE @ LAL starting at 10:30 PM ET. You can make a lineup with players from just this game. Below are some options for players to use in the MVP slot and other cheap options that will allow you to fit in the big dogs.
Top MVP Options
Dennis Schroder ($13,500) – Our current projections at RotoGrinders have Montrezl Harrell projected as the highest-scoring player in this game but I slightly prefer Schroder. With that said, it’s completely reasonable to play both players and alternate them between the MVP and STAR positions. Schroder was finally more aggressive offensively last night, which the Lakers badly need with both LeBron James and Anthony Davis sidelined. Schroder led the team with a solid 31.8% usage rate and I expect him to continue to try to carry the load offensively on the Lakers starting unit.
Jarrett Allen ($15,000) – A small winner in Thursday’s trade deadline with JaVale McGee being shipped away, Jarrett Allen should now see his minutes solidified in the mid-to-upper 30’s. Once a difficult frontcourt matchup, the Lakers are no longer a team to avoid with opposing big men as Anthony Davis remains sidelined. There’s also a chance that Allen will avoid Marc Gasol who returned to the Lakers lineup in a limited fashion last night but only logged 15 minutes of action. Allen’s propensity to rack up defensive stats arguably gives him the highest fantasy upside of any player in this game.
Top Value Options
Darius Garland ($10,500) – With how this game is priced, you really only need to roster one player under $10,000, which keeps Garland in play as one of the better “value” options despite being priced at $10,500. Garland would move from a good play to a great one if Collin Sexton (Questionable) were to miss his second game in a row with an ankle injury. Garland’s usage rate jumps over 2% with Sexton off the court this season and he’s averaging nearly three more FD points per 36 minutes.
Markieff Morris ($7,500) – Markieff Morris is coming off a game in which he only played 15 minutes but he still rates as one of the strongest under $10,000 value options in this game. Morris got into 1H foul trouble last night and simply was never able to get going. Assuming he grabs another start, Morris should be in line for minutes in the mid-to-upper 20’s and projects for ~ .75 FD points per minute. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is the other value option in this price range. Caldwell-Pope posted one of his better fantasy performances of the season last night (33.3 FD pts) but is generally a poor fantasy producer.
